I currently have a stemline and a 2011 bc ac and I want to upgrade to the stem 8. Should I sell both to get the stem 8 or would the stem and ac be btter?
Thats so wierd bro i have a king stem and a toro circ ac and have been thinking about buying a stem/8 for like two months now.
Does it really make a difference with top ACs like that. I mean your smoking experiences are better than 90 percent of people smoking weed.
Go to a LHS and ask them to try out the Stem 8, like drag on it. They might let you. If you think that drag will be good with the ash catcher.. Keep the A/C.. If not. I might buy your 2011 BC A/C Lol
I'd be really close to a stem 8 if I only sell my stemline. I don't really use the ac, but want to keep it. I love my stemline though so might just save up for the stem 8.
Valid point. Personally I'd sell both though. Since you don't use the AC much anyway. What's the real point in an AC keeping your tube clean if you have to clean the AC anyway? Now you have two things to clean instead of one. It's only good for extra diffusion and an extra smoke chamber. I sold all the ACs I had. You still have to clean the tube with it and these new ACs overflow because of so much diffusion so you end up with ash in your tube plus resin. Not to mention I find it more enjoyable without an AC. A carbon filter does a much better job at keeping the tube clean plus filters your smoke for much less money. There's just no diffusion or smoke chamber.
it took me a couple years to get to this same point as you...i like ash catchers for diffusion but it does add to the cleaning....When i did use ash catchers i would change the ash catcher water daily and the regular bong water every couple days to a week. now it strictly the McFinn's Carbon filter which actually keeps my tube cleaner than any ash catcher i have ever tried...Well inline ash catchers with a splash guaurd would also keep the tube clean. PUFFER
When I think of an ashcatcher, I just think of more diffusion not keeping my tube clean. Now, Ive never hit any top of the line glass like a stem8 before. Are you saying an ash catcher is definitely not necessary to have one with something like that or a pillar?
Seems like acs keep my bong a little cleaner, but still have to clean my bong the same amount as if I didn't use the ac. I usually use a ac for extra diffusion or too add more volume for smoke. I never hit a stem8 with flowers but dragged it with water. I really don't Think I would need the ac but I love it even though I rarely use it. And I couldn't snag one off a lt yet. I didn't really want that blue label either haha. Can't really say If a ac is necessary with a high end bong, some people like the extra chamber. Also read everyone else posts and I might buy a carbon filter. Puffer people say carbon filters take out a little of the smell, how does that work? And is Mcfinns the best one on the market?
I have a 16'' mini stemline and toro circ t/c. I recently got the stem to 8 and couldn't be happier. Honestly the stemline and toro circ is still a great hit, I still use it, but the stem to 8 gets the most use, and I sometimes throw the a/c on it to keep it clean but its definitely not necessary. If you can get ahold of a stem to 8 I say go for it if your looking for a bigger tube, it's an amazing high end tube.
Yup that's what I'm saying. You get plenty diffusion with a Stem 8 or Pillar and they both hold enough smoke to get you plenty stoned. They fill quickly and clear quickly. Well I'm glad you're on the same boat, the filter defiantly keeps ash and resin out. I used to change both water daily when I had ACs, sometimes a multiple times a day. I was more taste sensitive then clean sensitive though. I wouldn't say that, they all serve their purpose as they should. If you want a built in screen it has one which is nice, but the filter is way too tall for my liking. I'd buy the RooR before Mcfinns and use a glass gauze/screen. I don't like the EHLE because it's a metal screen and it's also tall. Aqua used to sell worked ones with a handle that were nice but I don't know who made them and never see them anymore. Or you could order a custom one if you wanted to wait.
GMD probably makes them, EFS (wait is at least a month), I'm not sure of others right now. Anyone that blows glass should be able to push one out since it's a pretty simple design.
Alright For sure thanks for the help. I'll try to contact a blower before I buy a mcfinns. Worked carbon filter sounds sick.
