major probs guys... im in the grow room yesterday checkin out my beautiful buds , and f*c*in hell, 2 of my fems have spat out some male flowers! This is a major dilemma, my 1st thought is get them out, but theyre in bubblers and i cant transplant them outside, and theyre absolutely covered in huge frickin buds so i dont want to rip them out...wtf am i gonna do??? i have removed all flowers, found about 5 on each plant then removed everything thet even thought it LOOKED like was gonna turn into a male flower....including a few buds by mistake...lol... only about 3 of the flowers had actually opened, but i imagine this is enough to do sum serious damage to my crop...can i just keep pickin them off or what... im so mad... (note 4 newbies...just coz it looks female dont mean it aint gonna stab u in the back at any second)
if youve got fans going, you may have pollenated youre whole crop. you can continue to try to pull what you see, but it may be futile. good luck though and keep us posted. are we in for any treats of some pics in the future?
4tunately the 2 with male flowers is at the far end of the grow room, furthest from the fans...so the fans have hopefully only blown the pollen onto themselves... ill try and get sum pics later today..last time i tried they were no good coz its so bright... thx
what is a cartoon board??i assume you mean something like a cardboard box to separate the plants...good idea!
Hi Chickie...got a question for you...were all the plants you have in this crop grown from seed or cuttings ( clones ) from the same mother ? If they were cuttings from a plant that proved itself a female then the male flowers that have appeared on your 2 plants will be producing FEMALE pollen.When your crop is matured collect the seeds ( probably lots from my experience !!! ) and plant 10 somewhere where you can grow them to 4 sets of leaves and then sex them off...and see what you get...if you get all female plants then you have lots and lots of female seeds ( worth a bit of cash !! ) and a never ending supply for yourself...if it doesnt then all youve lost is a little grow on the side..hope it pays off. This does work , i ended up with about 500 female ww seeds and 4 crops down the line not one has turned out male..
no galvanised, unfortunately this being my first grow they were all from seed, but what you said is truly fascinating...i never realised you could even get female flowers releasing pollen...ill definitely keep this in the back of my mind for the future...
funny shade.....lol... ps. im wondering..if i cloned the hermie, would it mean that the clone is destined to growing the male flowers too??
hey i just remembered that i read somewhere that in the last stages of flowering it is not uncommon for a plant to throw some flowers...remembering this got me thinking coz the buds on my plant are going brown...so my guess is its nearly ready to harvest... i think i read it in overgrow...anyone else heard of this?? so far no more flowers have been produced...
