Sex

Discussion in 'Religion, Beliefs and Spirituality' started by esseff, Aug 25, 2012.

  1. You know, the simple fact that sex can complicate the mind into us trying to define it or understand it only stand to confirm and strengthen my atheism.

  2. Not sure I follow you.

  3. The only one simple explanation to this, and I believe all true explanations are simple, I that our sexuality is the result of our continuous evolution.

  4. You are right of course, for without constantly doing it, we might not have been around long enough to evolve.

  5. I often find it weird to have a sex drive...

  6. It is a weird thing when you think about it. Question is:

Is it really you, or is it just some deep animal urge to procreate, that may no longer be as necessary as it once was?

For many men, myself included, when they were young, and before they mastered the art of the hand, they often experienced a nocturnal emission. Most grow out of it, as the hand usually gets there long before this can happen, and once proper sex gets underway, even the hand takes on a more secondary role, and the nocturnal emission usually becomes a thing of the past.

    But not in all cases.

For the few who neither practice such manual dexterity, nor engage in sexual encounters with another, the nocturnal emission makes a reappearance. Not in an unconscious way, like waking up to find you've wet your bed, but it forms part of an altered state, similar to a dream, not quite as lucid as a lucid dream, but with a sense of reality that makes it very interesting, without the usual desire or lust that is normally involved with it.

The feelings are far more heightened than anything I've experienced during the waking state, and often involving scenarios that would never exist in 'real' life. The orgasm is so much more intense than anything I've experienced when awake, with anyone or either hand.

This experience could be the result of the body's continuous production of semen, and its need to release it. But without any physical stimulation going on, the scenarios it comes up with which cause or help it occur, plus the heightened feelings involved when they do, make it incredibly interesting to experience, and at least for me, can only happen when the idea of sex no longer makes me feel I need to have it.

    ADDITIONAL:

So I don't know how the celibates do it - perhaps this thing fades for them over long enough time, or maybe some of them are lucky to have a fairly low testosterone level to begin with. All I know is, that whenever I've experienced periods of celibacy, this takes over. I like it, but I don't seek it, I only accept that it might occur.

As a kid, I hated it when this happened. Partly because it soiled my sheets, but partly because I was embarrassed at my mum finding the stains it left. I solved this by wearing underpants. But for a long time I resisted the orgasm when it happened, and learnt to stop anything from ejaculating. Probably not a good thing, as I ended up with a benign lump on one testicle, caused by some kind of knot in the pipe there. It isn't a real problem, but I'm sure it was due to this.

So one question that comes to mind is:

Is it the act of ejaculation that is the thing the spiritual traditions decry, and which is what they say affects the spiritual energies, or is it the desire and lust that normally goes with it?

  8. My question exactly. Sex does not feel deeply important to me.

But..I am a virgin, so what could I know?

  9. Are you a virgin because you haven't had the opportunity to experience sex yet, or through choice?

  10. Their choice, lol

  11. Yes, there have been many great Masters who had wives. However, the sexual function isn't abused, and is limited to a maximum of twice a month. It is not had from lust, but as an act of love.

Both of my Hierophants have fiances, it makes them no less exalted in consciousness, and it is encouraged to have children in my system. Higher souls sometimes need spiritually advanced parents, and will jump at the chance to incarnate into a household with even just 1 of the parents practicing a legitimate system of mysticism.

like anything, sex has to be delved into with the intent to understand and experience fully and authentically. The millions of years of inertia as an animal and then thousands as a self conscious primate - capable of self consciousness of his sexuality - leaves a heavy burden to deal with. What can you do? The world is so heavy. Particularly America is so over-sexed, and the whole world follows suit.

it is not over-sex in a demonic way, but that sexual energy confined by tradition and by human self-consciousness, law, and society, has suddenly become open completely. This means 2 things. First off, that sexuality can be experienced authentically, fully, beyond culture or tradition or mind in general. It also leaves a certain over-sexed state that is clearly prevalent in our world today. The amount of pornography of every kind - including and especially just subtle things like ads and posters and movies, all force sex upon you.

Which is perhaps good. Because it is time we dealt with sexuality as a race.

  13. ultimately, one needs to be present to whats happening in sexual situations and with oneself alone. By this I mean simple presence - not running away. Because sexuality deals with other people it also activates certain additional sensitivities in us that other aspects of our life do not. The point is to be present to all of this.

  14. Why is sex ok in the first place? Just because people do it? That assumption leads to a lifetime in a sleep and in a conditioning. Seemingly freeing, but you are trapping something very essential in yourself in a collective community or inertia and untrue acceptance just to experience a little sexual relief or often just to feel better about yourself. You are trading the jewel of understanding your own sexuality - the quest of being present within it in the midst of this world that makes no sense - sexually as well, for a quick rock in your pocket because you are used to feeling some change there.

Be present. It ends in utter darkness. And then in light.

  15. sex should not go to the heart - it is avoidance. It might go lower, that is natural, but up is ugly. It ultimately should not go lower than authentic presence and sexuality either, for no other reason than you don't feel good. That which is alive in you knows you are trapping yourself in an animal state. Where to go from here?

  16. no going up, no going down, no going left, no going right. No going into the mind to try and understand or manipulate it. No cooercing the female (or the male), no avoiding her sexuality because she is sensitive or shy. Be real

  17. where does it go furthermore? In that darkness and aloneness, like anything else, alone can the answer be found. An answer not that u take but that you be within. And then die within. That is the stress of sexuality. That is the challenge. That is the truth. That is the search. That is the quest and that is the disappearance of uncertainity, stupidity, and the inability of man to have simple and honest relations with people in each minute around him. It is true transformation. One of the highest, and one of the difficult ones

  18. Like I said. What creator in his right mind would put us though this whole deal of procreation. I love sex. I could stay in bed all day having it. It proves that we are ever so in touch with our animal friends.

  19. Denying the "carnal nature" as it is referred to in some of the more common religions....
    is just another synthetic misunderstanding....
The idea never had anything to do with abstinence at all...
when we look at the lives of the other creatures in our world they are all driven by the carnal nature....everything in their lives revolves around eating and breeding...
Their sole aspiration in life is to eat and breed
Everything they do is driven by these needs...it is all they know...

To deny this nature is to do what we can to recognize that we are more than this...
That there is more to us than ...eat...fuck......sleep....repeat...

To live the carnal life is to have a life consumed by the physical
To deny it does not mean to ignore it....for to do so completely would soon have one starved to death....
To deny it is simply not to be ruled by it....
It is still a part of you...
use it....embrace it....as you would a well earned meal....

Just don't ever forget there is more to you than just the animal....

  20. This makes a lot of sense to me, and correlates to how my daughter came to be here, and who she's turning out to be.
