Severe sciatica

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by Newbie usa, Oct 3, 2022.

  1. Hello.
I posted this on the general forum and it was recommended to post here. Below is my best paraphrasing.
    1 messed up L5/S1 and L4/L5 IN 2009
2 Saw many many doctors, therapists, snake oil salesman
    3) pain management almost killed me twice (why two? That's another story)
4 now i use MM mostly 4:1 CBD:THC tincture, otc pain, and 2 tramadol each day.
For the most part this worked fine.....then the DEA came snooping around in a small town.
TRAMADOL WILL BE GONE END OF NOVEMBER NOW. Unless i go to another pain management doc which i refuse to do.
In my time and location (mid Atlantic) I've only found one MM that was litterly a miracle cure. A ACDC 20:1 VAPE. I've never seen it again in the two years the systems been up.
I don't react well to thc and the two years of using each day haven't reduced the bad side effects..
I absolutely can't handle the heady stativia plus it doesn't help. Approximately 7.5mg of an indica helps a great deal, although i am completely worthless for 18 hrs. It's supply is limited so it's only used as a last resort.

Any comments, suggestions, inquiries are greatly welcome.

  2. Look into thca. Its thc that has not been decarbed. I use dry sift hash, but some concentrates are in that form and edibles can be made using them. Not sure if there are thca edibles in dispensaries but theyre not hard to make and they wont get you high.

There are suppliments that can help as well. Tumeric may help. Black pepper oil (food grade) might help. Lions mane mushrooms can help with nerve pain and has ngf, nerve growth factor. Good luck

  3. my l5s1 never fused; I think sometimes my mother failed the folic acid and I got a touch of Spina bifida (not that severe, maybe Spina bifida occulta).
The only things that help me with this is stretches and exercises, such as:
    • I will stand in the corner of the countertop and place my hands on each edge, then I will lift my legs up towards my chest.
    • I will lay on my side and do scissor kicks, ie. lateral lifts.
    • I will try some extensions, sometimes with my foam roller.
    • I will ask my wife to rub some coconut/cbd oil topically if it gets really bad.
    • I will lay at the top of my stairs and lean my back into the slope (don't slide down the stairs!)

The idea is to decompress the affected region(s). You can also try electrostimulation if it gets bad, but I find that the more I aggravate the symptoms, the worse it gets next day(s).

  4. Check out kneesovertoesguy on YouTube.
Get a back extension machine, they are cheap online.
I had very server back pain for several years, going through his zero series helped way more than anything else.

  5. While standing, put the sciatica leg behind you on its toes and arch back until the pain fades.

  6. Thank you to all. Most of the stuff I've tried or now do for many years now with some help.
I was lucky enough to see a Phd in PT that did 90 min sessions with me once aonth. The improvement was great. I can walk up and down stairs again normally wear sneakers, kneel down and get back up again and i can even twist at my waist. Unfortunately she had to stop.

  7. Hi! I'm "Granny", a cannabis science nerd in California. Since "the system is up", I am assuming that there are dispensaries in your area.

I would first run a search on ACDC 20:1 vape cartridges. This will give you the names of several brands of ACDC cartridges like Mfused and Curaleaf. Jot them all down.

Then head to the local dispensary with your list and have a chat with the dispensary owner or manager, explaining your situation. If the dispensary already carries, say Curaleaf products, adding a few ACDC cartridges to their next order isn't a big deal. I know that the dispensary where I volunteer, will take special orders for items they don't always carry, especially for medical patients.

And have you tried tinctures? They are also available in a 20 to 1 ratio. I know that they are popular here in California. They can be very effective if you use them sublingually.

Also, start taking a few grams of Omega 3 (fish oil) every day. Like cannabis, it is an anti-inflammatory, and it also is needed to hook up the CB1 receptors that cannabis activates.

The earliest study I’ve found on this is “Nutritional omega-3 deficiency abolishes endocannabinoid-mediated neuronal functions.” (PubMed). Here’s the key sentence- “In n-3-deficient mice, presynaptic cannabinoid CB(1) receptors (CB(1)Rs) normally responding to endocannabinoids were uncoupled from their effector G(i/o) proteins.” (n-3 = Omega 3) Nutritional omega-3 deficiency abolishes endocannabinoid-mediated neuronal functions - PubMed

Most people don't get enough Omega 3 in their diet and are over-loaded with pro-inflammatory Omega 6. You might want to look into the Omega 3 Omega 6 balance- it affects your health more than you know.

    Hope that helps!

    Granny

  8. The only one to work perfectly is ACDC 20:1 VApe. It was here for 1 week 2 years ago ans has never been seen sense.
I only use tinctures now to control the dosage, can ise anywhere, and no smell.

  9. I've been dealing with a similar medical condition for the past 20 years. I agree with MIW. I make size "0" capsules with fresh green bud. I have the best response using 1:1 strains like CBD Critical Mass. I was also introduced to an organic mushroom blend containing Lions mane mushrooms. Those two combined have helped more than anything else. The mushroom powder I use is called Performance blend and it is sold by Myriad Mycology if you're interested in researching that further.
