Severe headaches and light sensitivity when smoking. Advice welcome.

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by F00zball, Oct 2, 2010.

  1. Hey everyone,
I'm brand new to smoking marijuana. In fact, yesterday was only my fourth time smoking. I've been having some really weird and annoying effects when I'm high, and I'd love to know what's going on. I noticed that I was more outgoing, felt good, and things were funnier. However, I also noticed that I was really sensitive to light. When I smoke everything gets this odd yellow tint and light seems really bright. On two occasions I've gotten headaches while high. The first headache wasn't too bad, but last night I smoked and had a really bad one. I smoked using a mini-bong, and took 3 pretty big hits. Everything seemed to be normal at first, I was feeling good, everything was brighter, ect. Then I felt my head start to get really tight. It sort of felt like what I imagine having a stroke feels like. I had this one point in my head where all the pressure seemed to be going toward. The spot was basically right in between my ears. Then I started to get these slow pulsations going from the spot, down the back of my head and ending in my throat. I would get a throb maybe once every couple second. I also felt like everything was going slow. I felt numb, and kept touching my teeth with my tongue to make sure i still had feeling. I tried closing my eyes because of the light, but whenever I closed my eyes it sort of felt like I was in a dream. (sorry if this is getting weird its hard to describe) Anyways, I obviously wasn't really enjoying myself so I left after a couple minutes and headed back to my dorm. I woke up fine the next day, but I noticed some sensitivity in my eyes that day. Has anyone else had a similar experience or have any advice for me? I'm kind of scared to try smoking again :(

    Thanks,
    F00zball

  2. That sounds like a migraine, which isn't necessarily caused by weed. I guess for some people that might be the case, but I've gotten migraines since I was a kid and find that smoking actually helps get rid of them.

Not sure where that leaves you, but I hope you figure it out!

Maybe the next time you smoke you should hang out somewhere dark and cool, like a basement or a movie theatre, and just try to relax.

    Good luck:rolleyes:
