ok so i got notebooks full of lyrics and haven't had anyway to record (except my phone which sounds like shit). So i just bought a real nice usb mic (called a "snowball") and pop filter . Any other suggestions to improve sound quality? It should sound good as i'm pretty good with mastering/editing , are egg cartons on the walls gonna make a noticeable difference in dampening? ty
No, they will just make your space look ugly. Try hanging blankets and record not in the center of the room but not too close to the walls. if you can buy a few mic stands and hang blankets between them then you can make a makeshift vocal booth that way.
