Setting up a tent first timer. I thought the tent was a sealed unit with exhaust but after reading instructions I need a intake open on the tent.I smoke in the house would this effect anything or should I run a vent from the outside.
I wouldn't worry about smoking in the house for growing cannabis plants. That's all part of the new world today about our planet is ending. When I was growing up the smoke was so thick in house on weekends when parents played cards you could cut it with a knife. Your plants will be fine if you smoke in your house. We are talking about a weed here that's been around for thousands of years.
sorry i meant smoking a few feet away from the intake, but was thinking and decided to put in basement for lower temps (about 68-70 degrees) and controled humidity if needed and away from the smoke(basement smoke free) then venting the exuast outside or upstairs still planning for the best outcome have a 4x4x6 tent with 450 watts mars 6inch iline fan with filter thanks for the replys
Taking into consideration what Clearsky said, I remember my cousin smoking like a chimney around his plants all the time. He'd have the entire grow room up in smoke, but he grew some pretty good shit. LOL Fast forward a couple decades and we had ash from fires drop on my plants and I was told outdoor grows were really effected by that. I know my grow was horrible that year, so who knows? I've never really gotten a definitive answer, but I've seen both sides.
I can tell you from experience that it will shorten the life of your filter and fan over time by gumming them up. It never affected my plants but the filter/fan drew in a lot of the smoke even under a closed door to the grow room.
I have tons of light leaks, I smoke in my room. That stuff doesn't effect anything from my experience. It's just something for a grower to blame when they eff up.
decided to keep upstairs because the tent wouldnt fit in the basement (too tall). glad to hear it doesnt harm them. will still have the intake vent going from the basement anyways its cooler downstair than upstairs. my basements usually 68degress upstairs is whatever it is outside 80-100degress.
I smoke in my house and in same room..ive never noticed any problems..my friend even smokes her joints in her tent to cut down on smell, and never no negative effects, i can't say it won't ever but just haven't seen it for myself, yet..lol
