Okay so I have a closet. Its about 2 1/2 feet wide and about 8-9 feet long. Its about 9 feet tall. I plan on either painting it white, or getting the reflective tape? what is that tape called anyway? And could just white paint do the reflective job? Anyways I am probably going to grow ak47 or northern lights. I'm guessing I can fit about 4-5 plants in there. I will have a 400watt HPS, is that enough for around 4-5 plants? I will also have a normal fan on in there, the cord will slide through under the door. And the door will be shut, it won't over heat will it if a fan is in there? OKay thats about all. Thanks guys!
dude i have like the same situation. i have a closet about the same size, just not as long. and im trying to find out how to get good seeds legally.
the reflective tape isnt a good idea, im in my first grow and im experimenting. i built a box thats 2x2.5 feet and 5 feet tall. at first i lined it with aluminum foil trying to reflect the light, but it just burned the leaves and forced the temp to around 92. after i took it out it stays around 85 which as i have read is perfectish. go with the white, im not sure if flat, semi-gloss or gloss is best but hopefully someone else can help with that. as for the seeds, i know what you are sayin, i have been asking around my town and cant seem to find someone that is willing to part with good seeds. lemme know what you find out cannabiscool. oh and yea 400 watt hps should be good for 4-5, my only question is why only 4-5 in there??? ive seen 7-8 grown in a 3x5x5 box, and yours is tall so height isnt an issue at all...
oh ok sounds good. Its already white on the inside of the closet but I don't know if there is a special paint. I though tinfoil would be good? I don't know. Well yeah I could probably fit around 7 in there, but I can only afford one 400watt HPS or would it be better to get a bunch of cheaper cfls?
bump, I've decided to put mylar up and is a 250watt HPS good for about 5 plants seedlings through veg through flowering? I just can't go with the 400 because I don't know how I'm going to circulate air and I'm sure 250 will already heat it up a lot, I mean i could leave the closet door cracked and have a fan in there and have a fan on the outside of the door crack pushing air in and have my window open for fresh air? This will be my first grow, does anyone know any good first time strains to grow? Besides the typic White widow and all that etc. Okay thanks again!
I have a similar situation. Heres my 2 cents: 1. Mylar is a great way to go, reflects light, but not so much heat (tinfoil sucks a big fat donkey dick) 2. HPS is definetly the way to go especially 250 for 5 plants. I have a 400w with 5 plants but im planning to grow 20 soon 3. I have a fan in there and it still gets to about 90 deg, which isnt so bad, Its like pushing the limit, but ive got some dank ass buds commin! Any questions, drop me a line. We seem to be in the same type of growing conditions!
Also, not sure about your location, but legal seeds in the states is a oxy moron. Seedboutique.com is a great location to get seeds. Some very good strains for cheap! Just tryin to help!
