What do you guys think about springtails in organic matter , or “live soil “ as far as I’m concerned they’re pretty important part of the soil food web. And they only feed on decaying matter.. they will not feed on anything that is fresh.. therefore posing thread to any of the foliage or roots, the only thing I’ve heard Trying to avoid big swarms as no one wants dead lil bugs on harvested buds.. n e ways.. every time using our live soil, I seem to have them.. most will say it’s sign of a healthy soil.. i am sure my new soil mix is ALIVE part of it came from my old soil that was dumped outside and had chickens shitting in it and i did see a few worms crawling in it too just hoping no spider mites but it is a risk i took this run to get some Real Organic matter introduced i like experimenting i will break out my loupe soon and investigate whats crawling around if anything you know the Old saying
I would be concerned if there wasn’t any springtails in my mix. No way they will be in the final product. RD
