seeds?

  1. ive been saving pretty much all my seeds except for green ones and shit and i have a lot of them that look pretty nice to me most of them are from pretty good weed but im sure a few are from shwag i didnt bother to seperate them except from a couple reeeally good bags. how do i pick my seeds? how much does the seed have to do with the plant as opposed to just the process of taking care of it does?

  2. Genetics play a major role, but it's the age old debate of nature vs. nurture. I see it this way, I can nurture my plant to maximize it's potential. Get everything out of it I can, but genetics will determine how potent she is. ;)

I'd put some seeds into a cup of water and either leave them there until they germinate, or the next morning take out the ones that sank and plant them. :)

  3. but basically the better weed i got the seeds out of the better weed i have a chance of harvesting? haha

  4. I completely agree. If make the right grow decisions, you can raise a seed that came out of a bag of dirt to the same quality of a seed you pull out of a good bag of no-name chronic. Nature and genetics play a big role but so do you.
    :)

  5. Pretty much, as fence walker was saying, you can only push genetics so far, lets say you take a plant from a known strain thats proven to be great, and a plant from a strain that you know is proven to be poop, you grow them the same way... You are going to get better results from the strain that is proven to be a good strain. You can only push genetics so far, starting off with good genetics will obviously put you on the right path to some good cannabis. You can do everything right, but that is only going to get you the maximum potential out of that strain.

  6. For anyone that knows shit about it, growing is a lot like tuning.
I'm a JDM enthusiast myself, and this is the comparison I like to use.
If you take a stock R34 Skyline with an RB26DETT and a Dodge Neon with an SRT4,
you spend 20 thousand doing the best possible upgrades to both, you're just taking a 12 second car and an 18 second car and making them into an 8 second car and an 11 second car. Both will haul ass, but that skyline is always gonna take a shit on the SRT.
Same with a bag seed and a high grade fem seed with high end genetics.
    You get what I mean.

  7. is there way to predict anything simply by the appearance of a seed?

  8. The genetics of a seed often carry through how it's plant and it's seed will look. Some have tiger stripes, some look very plain, etc. It would be very difficult to tell a strain by it's seed though.
