I am intending germinating using rockwool plugs. Do I need to use any nutrients/fertiliser (whatever-this is all new to me)in the first week or so?Also if I use distiled water will this have the right PH level?
before you start you should invest in all the equipment needed for a successful grow. so if you don't have everything yet... get it before you start. things like pH meter, soil or hydro, lights, fans, etc. All you need is distilled water. The pH should be normal but it's wise to check. pH should be between 6.3-6.9. the easiest way is to drop your beans in a cup of distilled water, and put in a cabinet or some place dark and warm. check on the beans over 48 hour period to see when the crack and sprout. once they crack, you can put them in your rockwool. (personally I recommend grow plugs rather than rockwool for beginners). Then once you put your beans in the cubes... stick them under your lights. hope that helps. check out the grow video in my sig also. an excellent learning tool.
