I grow outdoors. I germinated with paper towel method, and was successful. I planted some in Miracle Gro and others in compost( I have used this compost before and it is really good). I placed them in partial light until I saw the first leaves. I have not added any ferts. Then I placed them in direct sunlight (about 4 days after germinating) for a few hours a day. Plants were looking good in sunlight. They were growing nice, green, and healthy. Then next day, I see the leaves (still green) have reduced its size by half and fell off the main stem. Some of the leaves almost disintegrate. The only thing is left is the stem with roots. And then they later die. This has happened to me several times in different occasions . One of my seedlings was one week and a half old. The thing I find most perplexing is that the previous day there is no sign of anything going wrong. Then the next day the leaves just seemingly disappear and the plant dies. No pics because the leaves are barely visible and and some just disintegrate into the soil.
I was encountering the same problem. everything is nice and healthy the night b4, but the next day i go to check on them and the leaves are almost nonexistent and the stem shrivels up and dies. i grow indoor, idk if that makes a difference but what i found to be the problem was a combo of nute burn and ph problems. in my current grow the same thing almost happened b/c the plants showed me a slight sign of something being wrong. so what i did was flush the plant with some good ol' distilled water from wal-mart. it was happening to my aurora indica plant. about a day after flushing, the plant stop decaying. a couple days after, the plant started growing again. which was actually a couple days ago. its fine now, i had to completely cut the first set of leaves off b/c they were past being saved. the second leaf set suffered minor damage but nothing major. i don't think full recovery has been achieved as of yet but its growing again, albeit slow and the leaves are very light green/yellow. but hey, its better than it being dead. the best thing i can suggest for you to do is to feed it distilled water. if your having the problem i think your having then this should do the trick. and if it does work, keep it on the distilled water until the plants need the nutes or when they make full recovery. and if you get some FFOF you can grow the plant on the FFOF and water pretty much the whole way through. note: if you go nutes, make sure you put the correct amount in. its better to go 1/2 strength just to be safe. and test the ph of the nuted water b4 feeding. i hope this helps bro
