this is my first time. instead of going with the lucas formula ive mapped out my own feeding chart after doing some research in the grow journals. im using general hydroponics' floranova line. im going to start my seedlings in a quarter strength solution. the only issue is that all the ph/ec meters give different readings for ppm. how many ppm should a 1/4 strength solution be using a hanna combo ph/ec meter?
Mate. Dunno what you've read or what you've been told but do not feed yr seedlings anything until the 3rd or fourth set of leaves. The first leaves (cotyledon leaves) contain all the nutrients needed to sustain the plant for a few weeks so it's not a good idea to feed em too early on. I usually even wait until the cotyledons brown up before feeding. good luck with it all
Soil is 400 ppm MAX so quater strength would be 100 ppm. Correct me if Im wrong but that would be to my understanding.
Yeah but this is a hydro thread and the guy above the guy above me haha is right you shouldn't start nuts until about the second week for now just use plain RO water. Then start at 1/4 strength nutrient solution.
no i meant in my hydro system right now im just waiting for the roots to show through the rockwool. buut the first nutrient solution youre supposed to use is 1/4 strength is it not
