Hello! I'm a new person to this Forum and I am new to growing my medicinal purpose plants. I have a question about how long does it take the plant to actual start showing from the soil? I have started the first process of soaking in water and wet towel method with Autoflowering seeds. I planted in soil yesterday and I don't see anything producing. I planted the seed a knuckle length deep in Fox Farm soil.
Usually about 3 days give or take, Did you allow a tap root to show before planting? Sent from my LM-Q730 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
First knuckle may be a little deep also, I usually go about the depth of a pencils led. Sent from my LM-Q730 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
My 9th plant just started went like this: 8/2/20 - Germinate Afghan autoflower seed in shot glass of water 8/3/20 - Radicle popped from seed (aprox 1/8" long) Planted seed 1/4" deep in soil w/ radicle down 8/5/20 - Seedling popped from soil 8/7/20 - Picture below Tried it once, but I'm not a fan of the paper towel method. My fat fingers can't handle a long radicle. Straight to soil from water after 12 to 24 hours has worked great.
Also, do you buy distilled water or do you just boil and cool to use for humidifier and for feeding the plants?
I just let tap water sit for 24 hours open and ph it as needed. Sent from my LM-Q730 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Patience is a lost art; even seasoned growers find themselves anxious about the pace of every successive effort. My lead cycle of late was started (without germination) on the 14th of last month but is proceeding more aggressively than memory serves for many others. Constantly battling poor handling and other miscues I have another round going about two weeks after that and plan yet another within the next few days; always better to have too many than not enough. Pictured at about a week above ground and then just a couple of days ago, I've advanced the most promising to short hours and intend to veg the others for another month to offer more potential.
