I had the light too high I guess I have since lowered it what should I do next? I was going to wait and transplant after the roots filled out or should I do it now and bury the stems before they fall over ? Only 3 out of 4 stretched
Well you just learned around thing about seedlings, never fill your pot to the top always leave room to add material for that reason. If you are very careful go ahead and take a razer blade and cut the bottom out and be careful the promix don't fall out the bottom when removing it. Then get the pot you are going to use and fill with your material not clear to top and make a hole in the center using another solo cup. Now place your solo cup in the hole and take your bud trimming scissors and cut down the side all the way and pull it up out of your pot and add material around the area. Good luck it's no biggie just be gentle doing it.
Thanks for the idea I got the stuff today will do it tonight cutting the bottom out genius I was wondering the best way
i would do nothing and wait to transplant it after more veg growth and root growth has occurred. You have to transplant it in future anyway so wait and then plant it deeper in the final pot it will grow in.
Does your other 4 look the same way as that one. I've had it happen before and transplant them to bottom of plant but it does take some skill to do with out hurting them. I don't like having a small stem exposed that much. If you got any pill bugs around they will drop that seedling like nothing.
I always like my plants stretched, easy to maintain a top crop later, and even now at the start a nice 9 inch seedling over a 4 inch any day, simply smear the stem with honey and insert the total length of the stem to an inch for very quick roots in a week or so. the main reason for stretch is to prevent mold later, so the air can get in the stems and flowers later I live in a swamp ...lol good luck
Well I made due with what I had around for now hopefully I didn't shock them to death time will tell I'm putting them under the metal halide tomorrow
and no they are not soaking wet no need to comment on how wet they look lol know that much at least and the clones are going in pots tommorow along with my light setup
They all look good to me, that's the nice thing about the LEDs you can lower them down and adjust the settings for the seedlings. Or just use a 4 foot fluorescent light over them couple inches above.
I've always wanted a conversion bulb for my hps, now I got one its way old fashioned I simply turn down the led to about 25%, the concern wasn't the light or color but that free heat that comes with ancient tech, keep a temp gauge close by IMO
