Seedling Puffy Leaves

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by MG31, Mar 20, 2022.

  1. Seedlings are about a week old. This guys leaves are starting to look “puffy”. I’ve been misting the soil daily, and did a veryyy light watering the other day just at the base of the seedling. They are in FF happy frog with 30ish% perlite. No nutes. Water PH 6.8.

    RH- 60-65%
    Temp- 70-72 degrees Fahrenheit
    Lights- one 150w LED @50% power @ 16”

I had the lights higher at 18” but that induced stretch and growing at an angle, so dropped to 16” a few days ago.

I know it’s a water issue, just not sure if it’s over/under. Soil is pretty dry so I’m leaning towards under. Thoughts?

  8. That slightly rippled look you are seeing is often caused by pH changes. For a tiny plant like a seedling, little differences within the media that would not affect a larger plant can cause twisty leaves and little ripples. I have seen this a few times, and the plant usually outgrows it soon.
Short version: Like others said, they should do fine.

  9. Thank you for knowledge! Once I’m able to water enough to measure runoff, I should be able to stabilize the PH. It’s crazy how little will affect these seedlings.

  10. I've had many with much more twists/wrinkles and every one of them grew out of it.
