Seedling light schedule

  1. Hello all,
First I'd like to thank you all for posting such helpful information. Extremely useful to a noob like me. This is my first grow. I do plan to document and photograph it.

Now, I have about 10 seedlings, all bag seeds, 5 days old and they all have about .5 inch of jagged leaf extending in each direction. (in addition to the first rounded one. they look good and healthy, but I couldn't find anything about wether the little seedlings should have a certain light schedule until a certain point? i have 2x 20 watt floro tubes from wal-mart (replaced with sunlight full spectrum bulbs) and I have been leaving those about 3 inches away 24/7 in hopes of promoting quick vegetation. Should they have a diferent light schedule?
    any help appreciated.

    mahalo.

  2. Its your choice man. No right or wrong answer here, just personal preference. Some do 24 on,some 18-6

  3. I like 20/4 personally.

  4. i do 24 hours until they get 2 or 3 nodes than i switch to 18/6

  5. i do 24/7 untill 3 weeks maybe 4 than i switch to 18/6 untill i want to flower..

    good luck

  6. right on.. thanks for the info.
what would be the advantage of using an 18/6 cycle rather than 24/7 for veg?

  7. People who use 18/6 believe 2 things:
1, all living things need a rest/recovery time (6 hours)
2, The six hours will help save on electric bills

But depending on what kind/how much light your usin you may not care about the .33 cents you'll save.:p
