Seedling help!

  1. Hey Guys I'm gonna start a grow journal on here soon. I've been lurking around and reading around the grasscity for a good amount of time now. But before I do that I'm not sure of the problem here wondering if you guys can help me out? I'm a noob.

I'm not sure if it could be underwatering or overwatering? And I'm thinking the yellow might be from the soil since it's rich in nutes. or maybe because I have the lights real close?

I'm using Fox farm ocean forest. The seedling is under 4 23 6500k CFLs.

  2. Yea I've heard FF isn't the best for seedlings because of the nutes it has in it, can cause nuteburn in seedlings cause they're so young. Pretty new to this myself but I've read some of the pros here saying that. How often are you watering? You want the lights very close with CFL, within 6 inches or so. Best of luck on your grow man :hello:

  3. Last time I watered was late Thursday night and I completely saturated the soil. But before that I was watering like every other day almost because I wouldn't water it much and the soil would dry out.

And yea I read some things on here about FFOF some people swear by it for seedlings and other tell you to stay away. But I'm sorta tight on cash so I just went and got the FFOF.

  4. I hear mixed reviews on the fix farm soil also. Some people say it burns baby plants. I'm gonna sub to your journal cuz I'm interested in seeing babies in it from jump

  5. For the best watering feel how your container feels right after watering and then pick it up whenever you check on it until you feel it be significantly lighter. The plant needs dry soil just as much as moist soil, also just because the top is dry doesn't mean the rest of the soil is dry. With over-watering it isn't so much about using too much at a time its about watering too often and not letting the soil dry out. Best way to water as with anything growing related is to feel it out.

  6. Yeah the two inches dry at the top rule is crap. If I watered very time it was dry two inches down if have root rot and straight mud at the bottom.

  7. not true at all.

Autos are one of the harder things to grow when it comes to soil.
They are very sensitive when it comes to nutrients in the beginning of its life cycle.

I got 3 different autos....60 day wonder, Northern Lights Auto, and Cheese Auto

    All in ffof.....day 20....

  8. Yea I've heard that too, was just commenting how I've heard people say the opposite as well. I'm using ffof now myself but I got clones that started in something else.

  9. Nice plants project! So don't follow the 2 inch rule just wait a few days then water again? I'm sorta confused I've read so much on here and so many people say different things. I just want a nice default basic tip to follow by on the watering.

And what's your guys opinion on the health? their about 5 days old.

  10. First week i tend to use a regular sized bottle of water......and maybe water every 3 days....one bottle of water does 3 plants...

then the amounts keep getting bigger and bigger.....if the soil looks dry....water it.....if you can move around some soil near the corners of the pot.....and move like an inch or two down.....and its dry....then water

  11. Well I pulled the plant up :'''(
The leaves began to get mini holes in them? and it was just getting real yellow.
