Seeding my Hermie.

Hey dudet I would not really suggest talking seeds off of a hermie plant. You may end up screwing yourself over for next year, unless you are content with getting hermie bud

^^^^ummm, dont know about him but last time i checked hermies produce 100% (or close to) feminized seeds.

 

I am with hippiedude on this one, hermies are created by the seed producers using chemicals to produce feminised seed.

The idea is that these grow into females.

 

Naw, fly. not exactly! You have to force a female to become hermie with the chemicals. but if a hermie occurs naturally than is its in the genenic make-up of the plant. "All hermies should be destroyed. " I read that in some book on MJ cultivation. Peace, TBug

 

Sorry, disagree, hermies can occur as a result of stress, often root stress. It is not necessarily in the genetics of the plant. But having said that I would indeed destroy any hermie, don´t want my girls fucked.

hermies usally occur when the light cycles have been fucked with. Feminized seeds and hermie seeds are two different things. A hermie plant grows what looks like bud calxys which then turn into seeds and back to bud. Feminized seeds grow strickly bud you always get seeds in hermie bud. Fem. seeds will produce a few seeds but not as many as hermie shit

 

You can have two clones of the same mother, so genetically identical, one can get stressed and go hermie, the other stays unstressed and remains female. So I think this indicates it is NOT always genetic.

Anything else I think we will have to agree to differ on, LOL.

 

spot on fly i think that explains it clearly. im my experience a hermie is most likely to have been forced due to light interuption during night

I am no expert on this matter but I would think that if it's not ALWAYS genetic it would

never happen? Makes sense?? In order for a plant to go hermie there has to

be some genetics involved, or maybe even all MJ plants carry thise gene but certain

stresses causes them to be yeah whatever, something like that. . . .finally scored

no, your wrong like everyone has said, they can turn hermie due to environmental conditions or if it's in the genetic make-up, a hermie plant can contain both genes as the dominant, when wanting femeinized seeds, you should polinize a 95% female hermie plant with a female plant. and 95% male hermie if u want male seeds.

you'll know if your plant is environmentally stressed, if it contaains 95% of one gene, if it's half n half, deffinetly genetic. moving it to one side of the house, won't do a damn thing, the pollen travels miles, your going to end up with seedy bud, even if u destroy it now, it's too late. your hermie is genetic instead of environment (which happens more often indoors). the seeds will have a female to hermie ratio of 50/50.

 

Man everyone has opinion about plants hermieing and what they poduce. Well my brother agrees with Spanishfky. He says stress can effect plants tremendously. My brother says the enviroment can effect genetics and the outcome of exposed seeds to any soil that has been altered by man. He also says that fly is right about the two clones off the same plant can happen too. He says you can force one to hermie and the other won't be effected if its not in the same soil. And since fly only puts one girl in a pot that wouldn't happen. So I put would my money on Spanishfly's theroy.
