Seed Starting

    I was following a thread a couple months back where some fairly seasoned growers were starting a competition starting from seed and most all of them were having issues getting their seeds to germinate using various methods. For me seed germination has been so simple I was surprised.
    While I am more a clone guy, (been running classic bubblegum and Paralyzer for 5 years from a strain thats been cloned for almost 30 years), I generally will start a couple seeds every grow. I estimate I have started 40 strains from seed during that time. I am 100% with them (which is close to what I am with clones too)
    Not knowing any better my first couple seeds were just dropped into a small solo cup filled with a peat-based medium. (Big Box Store,cheap Promix). I punched about a 3/8" hole, dropped in the seed, covered it up and kept well watered. Seeds were not prepped in any way. 3 days later I had little plants. I now have duplicated this dozens of times without failure. Am I just lucky?

    Ya not to come off as a person who is high on themselves as i'm not, but germinating cannabis seeds has never been a issue for me either. I'm surprised by how many threads i've read on the internet of people saying only 50-70% of their seeds have germinated. Unless its bad genetics idk why others have such a hard time, then again i've been growing plants from seed for like 15 years perhaps i've mastered the art. Also i find alot of people have issues when they put the seeds straight in the soil like a inch deep then a week later ask what happened.
