Seed starter

    Will this be a good mix for seeds
    1 part compost (mushroom or horse?)
    1 part organic seed starter (jiffy)
    1 park vermiculite or perlite

    i'm a staunch believer that vermic, is a mistake to use in your mix. it's made to retain moisture. you want your plants to dry up between watering/feeds. with vermiculite, retaining moisture can screw up your schedule.

    Do you recommend EWC or compost for starting seeds?

    Stoned - just stick the seeds in some Promix. Straight up. Mix a handful of castings into it if you have some around.

    Once you get into organic soil (if your going to) just use your old organic soil that's been through a cycle next time - no chance of burning and has everything you want in it.

    You want it to dry out a little to make the roots work and develop out to get what they need.
