Seed production - question

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by JoeGreen420, Sep 24, 2013.

  1. I'm wondering if I grow a male plant - Will I get seeds from it in and of itself? Or does it have to pollinate a female plant in order to produce seeds? I am thinking about gowing a male plant, so I need some feedback. I want to get seeds from it if possible. I don't want to pollinate a female plant if I dont have too, to get seeds. Please advise. Thanks.

  2. Cannabis plants are dioecious, meaning a male and female are needed for reproduction.

unless a plant is a herm. it is either male or female. male plants produce pollen sacks which burst open when mature and pollinate a female. females grow buds and pistils. pistils catch potential pollen.

if you want to make a male to produce seeds from use good geno and allow it to pollinate ur best female resulting in an abundance of seeds of high quality
