I used the above seed germination method to get my tap roots to release. I planted them last night in soil that I put into party cups with drainage holes at the bottom and a plastic sandwich bag over top to hold in moisture. My questions are.... 1) How long will it take for my seeds to sprout up? 2) Do I put them under the light before they have sprouted or keep them in a dark warm area until they sprout and then under the light?
1)It depends how long the tap root was when you planted it, and the moisture. Usually between around 1 to 4 days for me 2)Once the plants have sprouted through the top of the dirt
The taproots on most of them were about 1/4 inch long already after only 1 1/2 days under the paper towels. I planted them last night at about 10pm so I guess Ill look tonight and tomorrow and hopefully some magic will happen. Im pretty excited to see how these feminized white widow seeds turn out
A few of mine took like 2 weeks to break the surface of the soil. But by the sounds of things, you have a better setup for germing than I ever did. Light is not a prerequisite as far as I know, but be sure to thoroughly read the Germination sticky thread. http://forum.grasscity.com/absolute-beginners/15076-germination-420-a.html
