So a quick question I got some new seeds and started them with a soak for 24 hours then placed them on a damp paper towel covered them then put the plate on heated seed mat. I did get tap roots on most of them then planted them in the jiffy seed starter. It’s been 7 days and still none of them have popped. I’m not sure if they were too wet but can they be brought back..? Thanks
Why not just plant the seed directly into the jiffy pellets......it eliminates any handling. I use rapid rooters and place the seed directly into it without any soaking or pre-germination......sprouts in 3-4 days almost every time.
@MickFoster just following what the seed banks suggest for starting the seeds in order to qualify for replacements if they don’t germinate but that said did I lose those seeds or can they be brought back?
How would the seedbank know what method you used? I use the method that works for me.......rapid rooters. I don't know whether they can be saved or not.....all you can do is wait and see. 7 days is a long time. Good luck.
Well, they cant be "brought back"...they either make it, or they dont. I personally start my seed by planting it in its final pot....usually around the 4 day mark they will start to "pop" from the soil.
