This is what I'm running all of these plants at/in. 6.3-ish phed water, lead water filter for chlorine and heavy metals, I use stone bubblers to make sure ph stays level. Mixed promix coco coir/peat moss blend with roots Organics soil, mix in roots Organics grow or bloom terp teas as base nutes at 2 tablespoons and 3 tablespoons of dolomite lime and langbeinite per 4-5 gallons of soil. Also add bacteria from hygrozyme and URB, though the terp teas have their own. Top dress as needed. That's everything I'm running and what it's being run at. Between soil and additives it's usually too hot for plants at first so I'm confused as to why anything is becoming deficient. Any advice on how to level everything out and maintain better is appreciated! Thanks for your time and energy! Thinking phosphorus This big one just had me stumped Also confused on this one losing its color
I'm used to being asked everything I do down to a T, so I try to cover everything from the start. Promix is coco coir based, roots organics is soil. Soil is already built, I'm attempting to find out where I went wrong. I was hoping by building my own soil I'd get rid of most problems during a grow, but I'm still having plants look like they do in those pics and I'm trying to figure out why. What am I missing/doing too much of? When I feed i top dress with either the grow or bloom roots Organics and just water it in. I edited the original post to try and be more clear
Raise your ph to 6.5-6.8. Too many consecutive 6.3ish feedings watering and I get lockouts. Always shows as one deficiency or another. 6.3 is the lower range and where some nutrients struggle to be taken up by the plant. Just my 2 cents.
I'Il give that a try my next watering, I always had issues with ph being too high before so I guess I was a little over cautious
Are u flushing plants during any of ur waters? Also bloom city makes a awesome calmag solution that will fix almost any nute issue. This bottle has fixed so many issues I have lost count. Start flushing with 5.5 ph and use a calmag to help get rid of those rust spots
I haven't flushed these ones at all yet, I might give that a shot soon if things dont perk up. I've got natural cal mag each from the dolomite and langbeinite I added when I made the soil, do you think I'd need to get that bottle too?
If u can get ph between 5.5 and 6.0 ur soil will come alive. A calmag regiment will reverse any deficiencies and get u back on track.
Also I would start flushing once or so every two-weeks so u can flush any build of salt out of soil. If u get build up u can cause root lock and nute lockout. That takes a while to reverse
Ur plants r not in horrible shape bud, start flushing and adding calmag and those plants will be perky as ever in a few weeks
I'll give a flush and feeding of calmag and lowering the ph a shot before I try anything else, appreciate all the help deeply. Been trying to perfect my indoor grows but it's just a never ending learning process!
U will be a pro before u know it. Keep doing exactly this and u will know what to do in future grows. Good luck and happy growing
I guess it is majority peat moss, but also has to be 30-40% chunk coir minimum. If the problems persist I was going to go try your route, didn't mean to be disrespectful
I grow in promix on occasion. I would treat that mixture as soiless media. Soil is dirt, from the ground, clay and sand and bunch of organic stuffings. Promix is mostly peat and now I see that they've added some coco. I would treat this as a DTW system with 30% added perlite (even if it already has perlite). I would try to stick near runoff pH of 6.0 (tweak for different strains); can rise or fall, it will... since last week, my coco's runoff was getting more and more acidic, eventually it hit 4.9. I decided to flush with solution at pH 6.7, regular solution, idc nutes are cheap. The end runoff was 6.4 that day. The next day I fed at 6.2 and the runoff was 6.0. Good. I will go check it soon here... I also have a fig tree that is near three years old now in promix. That tree is fed every 2 days till ~40% runoff. Sometimes I miss a day. These plants always get fed solution and never just water.
