second grow

  1. well my first grow was harvested 2 weeks ago. i got 22 grams off one plant. it's really potent but a little harsh. i'm happy. now i want to make improvements on my growbox. the box itself is 2'x3'x6'. it has an 85 cfm CPU drawing air out of the box from the top and a passive intake from the bottom. there's an ocillateing fan stiring up the air inside. with 336 watts of cfl my temps were running about 84* with the lights on. i'd like to change to a 250 watt hps and maybe add a few cfl's. what do i need to do to keep the heat down? i already have a hole cut for another CPU .is an air cooled light a must? do i need more holes in the bottom for intake? thanks

  2. helloooooo! anybody out there?

  3. Bump! I've been away for a while. Ha!

  4. An air cooled light is a must. A big hole for intake would help a lot. Maybe use a 2" x 6" vent grill. One on the outside with vents pointing down, and another on the inside with the vents pointing up. That way it would trap the light. I have two 150watt hps (htg supply)in my box. I have two axial fans exhuasting each fan out the top of my box. I originally had 10 different size cfls in there but he temps were too high. In the 90s. Now they are around 84-85. I have three two inch holes for intake. And two 2" holes for exhaust another 3" and a 6" hole for exhuasting. I still think that is not enought due to the factthat I have filters on all my fans. Without the filters the cab blows. I also have 3 fans inside blowing air. It's all about how you design it. The dimensions to my cab are 4'tall 3'wide 2'deep. I'll try to post some pics to give you an idea on what you want to do to yours.

  5. Also, if you can fit 2 150 watt hps in there, it would produce more lumens than a 250 watt. Also cover more area. 32,000 lumens vs 25,000. It's only 50 watts more power being used. Then take all those cfls and put them up around your house. Save a lot of electricity that way. That's what I did.
