Second Grow, need help diagnosing a deficiency...also pics of new grow cabinet

  1. Hey everyone

This is my first post here but I have been a long time reader. I recently started my second grow (Sprouted seeds went into the pots 15th of January) and am having a problem with two of my plants. But first my grow setup:

    Seeds/Genetics

1x Power Plant Feminized from Dutch Passion
2x LSD Feminized from Barney's Farm
    4x AK-47 from Grower's Choice

    Growing Medium

    Soilless Mix:
    60% Coco Fiber
    15% Perlite
    15% Vermiculite

    Lighting

12x 23w Normal Bulb-Type Fluorescents 6500k (daylight spectrum) for veg. I keep the main bar with 8 bulbs about 2-3" away from the plants.

400w Sun Systems HPS for flowering

    Nutrients

Fox Farm tri-pack (Grow Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom) Just started at label strength every other watering. Watering is done with distilled water...still need to go get some ph strips.

    Grow Container

I just built a new cabinet I'm vegging in...it's 3'h x 3'w x 2.5'd. The main 8 lights are on an adjustable rack with an additional two on either side. Inside is lined with mylar and ventilation is provided by 3x 120mm computer fans, two exhaust on the right side and one intake on the left.

    So onto the problems.....

One of my LSD plants is showing brown spots on the largest leaves, and the spots are visible on the underside of the plant:

Also, my Power Plant is turning light green/yellow in splotches on the leaves all over the plant, but looks relatively healthy otherwise. The only other comment I might have about it is that it looks low to the ground but I think that strain is supposed to grow in that manner...

Thanks a lot if you can help me identify these....the guides that tell you which deficiency it might be are still a little vague and confusing to me.

  2. Please help me out with this...brown spots are getting a little more pronounced on the one plant...

  3. I also use FF ferts in my grow. I usually start them off at about a 1/4 strength and ease them up to full. I would ease back on the next feeding, and def get those ph strips. Those brown spots look like a cal or mag def. so your PH may be off.

  4. Yeah I agree, this definitely looks like an over fertilizing problem or maybe an imbalance with your pH. Look up a plant abuse chart and do some research with the search though

  5. I have been doing a lot of researching and searching...this is my first time diagnosing problems tho. I got a book called marijuana garden saver and the brown spot problem instantly looked like their pic of a calcium def.

I went down to my local hydro store today and picked up some calmag, a ph tester, and phup/down so I will be regulating my ph to 6.2 from here on out
