    Hi

This is my second grow, the first was very cool, I learn a lot.

The only sad thing is, at the end I clearly didn't receive the seeds I order. (Check the journal here)
It sad because I don't know what I'm smoking right now :O)

Also in my first grow I built a custom bubbleponic base on plan found on the web. How the system work it's perfect, but having 4 plants in the same tank is not very good.

I'm a new retired engineer, and for that I built a lot of things, and I just finish my new Bubbleponic system.

With this 20 liters tank I fix all the flaw of my first one. Very cool and effective system (I hope)
Also this time it's only one plant (Le Fruit Defendu) in a 2x4x7 tent with 3x T5 CFL's (408watts total).

I'm pretty sure the result will be the same or more in grams.

Like my first journal a lot's of pictures to come.

Today's pictures it's my new bubbleponic and it's environment.

Also for the log, I put the seed in yesterday, it's day two from seeds now.

    Have a good one

  2. So what are you growing this time...autos or photoperiod seeds. If your growing auto's I'd do two seeds. By the way your first grow was very nice.
    +rep for your first grow!!!

  3. Yo Chimera2

Your right I forgot to talk about this.

Another thing I learn with my first grow is...

If you want to use a kind of bubbleponic system, don't use autoflower seeds, they grow too fast in a system like that and you don't have any control over them. The best is regular (feminize) seed, like that you can control when they begin their flower period.

In this grow, it's only one feminize seed, Le Fruit Defendu is French for the forbidden fruit, they say this strain was develop in my country and this is why I choose it.

    I can't wait for the result ;O)

  4. Very true, Besides you don't get as large a harvest. So is the le fruit a sativa or indica dominate strain?

  5. Hey gang

it is mostly Indica, I buy them from AMS.

Like my first grow, the first week is a little boring, but she's growing.

This is the last 3 days in close up, it's day 8 from seed

    Have a good one

    Hi gang

Today she's 1 month old (from seed)

It's my second grow, but I'm still a newbie.

My new bucket is very cool, but the clear tubing to see the water level and the one at the top are not good... I begin to see green stuff in it (algae) I think it's not good... anyway I remove the water hose at the top and put some electric tape around the tube on the side (I left just enough space to see the water level)

Because of that I'm already building my third generation bucket to fix those issues ;O)

She's around 9 inch tall now, but the trunk is very big for the size of the plant (I think) and she's very bushy.

Picture 1-5 are the last 9 days (a pic every two days)

Pic 6, here I try to show the bushiness of her and you have a glimpse of the size of the trunk and branch structure. I think she prepare her self to have a great harvest.

The last one is 10 mins ago (day 30 from seed) for the past 3-4 days I open the side lights, I want to show her she have a lots of place and lights to grow.

    Have a good one

  9. Looking good! So how did the auto weed smoke?

  10. Hey chimera2

The smoke is a good buzz, but the smell and taste is not so good.

I'm very surprise about this. I have 4 different strain from my first grow and all of them have a very small or none smell or taste. Anyway it was my first and last grow with Autoflower strain.

Some friend told me it's because I dry the weed to fast and too dry, another one say it because I wait to long before harvesting. But I'm still happy with it, it's was my first experience and I'm learning a lot, when the Fruit Defendu is finish I will do bubble hash with the rest of my first grow.

    See ya

  11. Very nice, yes if you dry them out too much it does lose some of the odor and taste, if you want the odor and taste to return try puting a orange peel in with it for a couple of hours. This will give them back some of there moisture. Also, after you do that you can also cure them a little longer(obviously when you overdried them it didn't let them cure properly). Your plant looks very nice, how many nodes does she have, are you planning on topping, fimming or LSTing them and when do you plan on switching them to 12/12? Oh and if you have any probs with the plant you can pm me and I might be able to help.:smoke:

    Yo chimera2

Thanks I will try that, and I'm still not sure for your questions....

I don't want to top the plant yet (I keep this for my fourth grow), but I already remove most of the satellite leafs (the first big one) to give some light to the branch system.
And for switching to 12/12, I think I will go by eye, now the plant is around 12 inch, If she go like my first grow, I will wait until she's around 18-20 inch to start the 12/12 cycle.

Also for the log, I have a problem with my water now, the PH is very high near 7, don't know why, the winter is very close here, and maybe it's because of that. Hope so, because it was perfect before.

Anyway I did a washout of the 5 gallon and put back good PH water.

Today we have some new pictures, 5 days ago and today.

In the first one (day 35) you begin to see the PH problem on the top leafs (the tips of new leafs are yellow and curling)

The second one is today, day 40, she's bigger and growing fast, but you can still see the PH problem on the top leaf (I did the washout 2 days ago) hope it fix the issue...

The last two are close up of the trunk and branches, it's amazing (for me) to see how tough she is. She's very dense. And the size of the trunk and lower branches is amazing (I think)

    Need to go work

    See ya

Don't cha just love hydro...your plant is looking great, I don't really see the yellowing. What are your current tds/ppm and ph readings currently and what are you aiming for the nute and ph reading?

Stupid me, your ph problem is probably due to the green algea that you had on you hose!!!

  14. Yo Chimera2

well I think so too, for the past 3 days I'm testing a lot with the water.

Reading before it goes in the tank is perfect PH=5.82 and PPM of 1050

But the next day the PH is around 7.50 in the tank.

I just change the water now and I put the full recipes of Piranha, there job is to protect the root and eat any kind of intruder in the tank.

Anyway if tomorrow is still the same (PH of 7) I will change my tank with a new 5 gallon.

Also my other guess if it not the green algea, it my new air stone and pump, I don't know if to much air (bubble) could do the same.

Anyway it's sad because she is so big for a 12 inch plant at day 42.

Check the pictures, this is the sign I have now.

    Have a good one

  15. I'd definitely, change buckets. When you do give her a day of nothing but PHed water. You also should add a little H2O2(food grade) to kill off any algea that is on the roots. Then go back to feeding her at about 75% or 750ppm nute solution, I believe this will take care of your problem.

The great thing about hydro is that if things are going wrong with your plant its super easy to fix, just a quick dump of nutes, clean the bucket and your back to having a happy plant and it doesn't really matter if you actually come up with the right diagnosis, although in this case(algea) you need to be sure to kill off/clean off the algea from your roots.

  16. Thanks chimera2, I did half that

Hehehe, I cannot change the bucket, the root system is so amazing, the 5 gallon is already full, no more space, I don't want to take the chance to remove her. It look compress down there, it's feel the roots will double or triple outside the tank.

But I did change the water again... but this time I put only water ph 5.76 (room temperature) and the recipes of Piranha. I did that yesterday and today the ph is 6.03. I think I solve the problem, hope so...

Also it's day 43 and I compare pictures from my first grow.

WOW it funny to see the difference, now this one is 12-13 inch and so dense, the 5 plants in my first grow, in the same tent with the same light was 24-26 inch.

The plants in my first grow was skinny and racing for the light and this one, she's fat, no rush, no stress beside the PH incident...

Can wait to see her in 2 months

    See ya

  17. Thats the diff between indica and sativa strains. Your first grow was...well just some f*cked up seeds that acted like autos in not needing a light change(photoperiod change) and sativa like in there willowygrowth pattern and time of flowering...some really F*cked up genetics.

On to another subject...I know that it feels right to remove those big fan leaves to give more light to the interior/branches but you'll get better results by leaving them on and just tucking them to the side if possible...if you want your interior branches to grow faster just do a little topping, its nothing to be worried about the plant will respond by giving you two main colas and the side branches will go into overdrive and catch-up to the top...and even if you don't want to top, you can still get better results if you'll just tie the top down refered to as LSTing/Low Stress Training if your not familiar with the concept just do a search on it.

    Thanks chimera2 for your advises.

I think the problem is fix... A lot of work... But she's ok...

Look at those 2 pics, she grow 1.5 inch and drink a lot of water....

I think I will give her 7-10 days to recover and start the 12/12 cycle.

    Thanks

    Bill

  19. Yelp, she's definitely a chubby little bitch. Seven days sounds like a good plan!

  20. Hi gang

Day 50 from seed, I just start the 12/12 cycle (last night) and this morning I change the light for 3000K, also I just change the water of the tank and put the bloom nutes. And for this grow I try the Voodoo juice for the next 2 week

Normally in 2 months she's ready, can't wait....

For the log, almost 2 months in veg and still no smell, very neutral, very cool.

She's now around 16 inch, and she's so fat.... Good girl...

2 pics today, taken 5 mins ago...

    Have a good one
