Im starting my 2nd grow here after a year off. My first grow was some bagseed that was a dude!! it was expected but i just wanted experience. Now i have moved houses and i feel confident to do two more.this will be an on going grow journal. Please feel free to give pointers or just stop by to say whatup! Plant 1: Lemon Skunk Plant 2: Lowryder Auto Blueberry Germination started 10/19 in two cups with wet paper towel. One CFL currently over them until i transplant into soil.
hey man, im a noob at this. but from what i understand, if your seeds are autoflowering, then you dont need to veg them in the cup/napkin. i just dropped my suckers about a quarter inch in the dirt and watered for a few day. i got my first few sets of leaves yesterday. also i believe vegging an autoflowering seed in a cup/napkin will damage the seed.
Im not veggin , just germinating until I move to my hydro setup. Ill be moving them in about a week. Thanks for the heads up tho.
He is germinating, not vegging. All plants go through a veg cycle, even those on 12/12 from seed, it's inevitable. Plus germing increases survival rates and lets you pick out dead seeds from the get go. And OP, you don't need light at this time, it's actually better to have them in dark, warm place. I started germing a seed last night and left it under my bed, then put it on my television today and the tap root has already emerged.
when you are germinating seeds, you want them in an environment that's dark and a little wet (hence the wet paper towel).
Word Kevin, I checked my seeds and they are good to go. They are nice and germinated. I just got back from the store and setup my closet and planted the seeds in their new homes. I used a mix of Organic potting soil and some generic perlite. Im going to use fish poop as fert in acouple weeks. I have one 150w HPS light on top with a 1,700 Lumen CFL and another 1000 Lumen CFL right on the bottom. Im going to go with 24/0 for awhile. I was wondering if i should do 24/0 the whole veg cycle and then switch to 12/12 for flowering or would i have a better success rate with just 20/4 veg and 12/12 flower? Id like these to become decent yielding plants. Here are the latest pics. enjoy P.S. open to suggestions.
For auto's, you don't need to change the light cycle, that's why they call them "autoflowers". I would put them on 18/6, it is a proven method and cuts down electricity costs much better than 20/4.
I know the issue of heat is a coomon problem with sealed closets and hps lights. I did a test run last night with a fan suck air out of the room and the average temp is 88F which im not tooo happy about. I need to come up with a good venting system that stilL stays within the boundaries of stealth. Whats the max temp I can effectively grow danky with. There is no openings in the closet.
Try not to go over 90F. It also depends on the strain where some can handle higher temps and fluctuations. Just monitor your plant daily and see how they behave when the temps are high.
Hey is a picture of the Lemon Skunk today. The Blueberry hasn't shown its face yet. we will see. *crosses fingers** The lemon is growing really fast. i left for 4 hours and came back and it had two inches on it.
thanks Baker. I got my temps to about 82F-84F with a small fan sucking air out the door cracked alittle. The Blueberry plant is now awake and spreading its first leaves as we speak. Ill get some pics tommorow when its perky.
I can't wait man, I have the worst time trying to get my temperatures under control, I have to keep my window open every time my lights are on, which means I have to open my windows when I sleep, i'm amazed I haven't caught a cold yet. If you've seen my grow, it's stunted, but the first leave set died, second one got burned and was dying so I trimmed them both. Theres some new growth, pray for me man.
bro im subscribed! i have the same 2 strains im getting rdy to germ later this week, this outta be interesting.
Yeah I have a fan next to the light sucking the hot air out the door. I keep the door cracked. The blueberry is out and growing fast ill take some pics in acouple days.
Expect good things from the lowryder blueberry. Here is one i finished not to long ago. She will produce a potent stench while growing though.
