Sealing A Closet for Odor

Discussion in 'Do It Yourself' started by PizzaAndPasta, Apr 24, 2019.

  1. Hello,

I am involved in a closet grow at the moment. Before flowering, I want to make sure that the odor will not penetrate the rooms outside of my office or released out the window.

I have enough rhino plastic to wrap the room but is there any one who has experience with sealing a sliding door closet. It is wider than it is deep and I have a rack about 2/3 from the ceiling that I am resting the carbon filter on at the moment.

I guess I want to know how I would seal it but also be able to access inside. How do you make openings or a door to check on the sacred plant?

Is there some type of sealer that is used to seal where the power cords would drop down? The major confusion is the rack. If I take that down I can make the enclosure easily. I've seen DIY for grow tent with PVC pipe and adapters but I was kind of just hoping to use the closet walls and fasteners to secure the rhino plastic.

I would love to remove my clothes from the other side of the closet and make a perpetual grow setup with two rooms. Veg and Flower. But then where will I keep my clothes? haha just kidding. I have dressers, lol. Also, do you think that carbon filter will keep the smell away if I have 4-6 plants? It came with the light when I got them off a friend. Grow Room Setup: Should I Grow Weed In A Sealed or Vented Room?

One plant or 10 plants, either way once they switch to full flower and starting oozing with frosty goodness, they’re going to STINK.

I would really try to get some ventilation outside if at all possible. Good luck with your grow

  4. It seems as though I would be better off with a fresh air exchange setup. I would love to vent outside but I live in a townhouse and don't own the exterior of the building to make those improvements. If I can get one of those window inserts with vent hole that are commonly used for A/C, that would be an alternative. Would have vent pipe running out of closet tho, I would prefer not to drill a hole in the door for a vent(s). Unless I can find cheap doors to replace the good ones with and fit them for vents.
