SEA OF GREEN QUESTIONS

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by fromtheyahd, Dec 27, 2019.

  1. Hello. I was wondering in a 10x10 tent how many autoflowers strains I should put in using the Sea of Green method? Any light recommendations? What can I expect for a yield? Any answers or help is greatly appreciated!!

  2. For a sea of green, I would use all the same strain. As for yield, it all depends on lights, nutes, pot sizes, gowing medium, skill and other factors.

  3. I've done 10x10=100 b4 pot size is 1 cubic foot 2 feet high
tho 3 ft hi is best
don't fergit SOG is with no screen SCROG is with the screen/netting

lights best under 2x 600w hps

    good luck

  4. I grow only autos without topping or training, which is similar to SOG, because the canopy quickly fills up.
My experience is that they do best with at least 4 sq ft each.
Given that much space in hydro, mine average about 4-6 oz dry each.
Less space, and they'll yield less.

    A 10 x 10 tent has 100 sq ft.
If each auto were to get 4 sq ft, that would mean 25.
If they yielded 4 oz each, that would be 100 oz.
But hydro yields more than most other methods.

    The cheapest lights can probably be found here;
Assuming 25 watts per sq ft, 2500 watts would be needed.
5 or 6 of these would work (~$350 each including shipping), but they probably also have bigger lights.

I never grow more than 1 plant of the same strain at the same time, so I know plant height differences can be a problem.
I try to solve it by putting similar expected height plants together.
Breeders give some guidance on height, and segregating similar height plants in different parts of the tent, with different light distances can work.
Tomato cages or string might be needed to separate different strain plants.

  5. I would not SOG autos. I tried and failed in that single cola sog is best started with clones. Several autos mainlined in 3 gallon or less bags will produce a more even canopy than sogged autos. Figure 2x2 per bag. so maybe 20 or 25 if you want to pack tight.

  6. Dog autos is hard as they just kinda grow as is with a limited veg time.
