hey blades, i have a mask project due on the 31st for my 3-d design class. i need to create something that incorporates a superpower and a moral value to stand up for. any advice on the concept and the general materials (preferably cheap, easy, and flexible like tinfoil or cardboard) would be greatly appreciated. i have to bring in my materials to class tomorrow
hmm well i've come up with good/evil, the power to change people's emotions, and this represents how people treat each other in society. however, this is a basic idea. can anyone help me expand upon it? as far as materials, ive come to the conclusion that i can just use whatever to piece together something
idk man as an artist i think those assignments are fucking stupid i normally just do something cool and make some bullshit up when im done
i usually scoured places like airport scrapyards or went to industrial areas (factory yards) and as i rummaged through materials the ideas would start streaming. Asking someone else for a specific plan can block your own creative process. good luck!
ahhh i mean i'll use whatever materials i can get, the whole project is a tough one because my professor never explained much he told us we'd work in class but because of the delayed class time (hurricane sandy) he canceled class for the week and told us it's due on the 19th... never gave us any help or explained some starter ideas. i could really use some good help guys, even if youre doing the general idea for me. it would mean a lot i just want to avoid it look like some middle schooler's project, know what i mean? it's a tough project
here are some ideas to get creative juices flowing. http://www.scoop.it/t/littlebytesnews-christianity-catholics-religious-liberty theres so much going on in politics that would make for interesting subject matter having to do with greed, morality, people blatently contradicting themselves. how about priests molesting young boys? ok. its dark, but im just throwing out ideas. think about weed, for instance. think about what's legal (that shouldnt be) & whats illegal (that should be). thats just one issue. are you passionate about something in particular? many times professors arent clear on purpose. this could be to force students to challenge themselves.
ah man that's relaly helpful, but im having a tough time interpretation some stuff like that into a superhero/mask form...
ah man that's relaly helpful, but im having a tough time interpretation some stuff like that into a superhero/mask form...
it has to be a super hero??? lol well, that changes some things.
Stick to two keywords for your mask that will make it easier to design. Look up if color has in relation to your ideas? Two suggestions.
well not necessarily. but it has to represent a political/moral value. and also inappropriate a superpower of some sort. it was supposed to be a Halloween project that was postponed... i had a friend get me a green plastic mask for start. now i just have to figure out what im gonna do with it?
papier mache is a cheap, easy route to go. it can be applied directly to the plastic mask and sculpted into anything you want with a little bit of cardboard and masking tape.
ok guys, since i cant update my first post for some reason ill have to explain here: i had a friend give me a thin, blank orange mask. fits the form of my face nicely. apparently a lot of people in my class are doing the assignment wrong (according to a fb group for our art class)... so it has to be: a superhero mask that incorporates a hero, a superpower, and political/moral value. and i honestly cant think of anything. but i have something to work with now. i can design the mask to whatever i want, and then i just have to glue on any extra things. its supposed to look professional so if anyone can start me out on some concept then ill be more than fuckin happy. id greatly appreciate it
my boys (they're 8) recently bought a Marvel Superhero Fact Book. It simply has every character in it with a description of each and their super powers. Many are simply ridiculous but you could look at some of them for ideas.
