I have room to grow the 6 plants i intend on, and enough light ( 2x400w MH&HPS) in B.B. hydro. but would i benifit from diong Scrog? or should I just LST and let them stretch as high as possible. from celing to floor i have 8' ( My grow room ) So scrog or no? Seems like I could benifit from even growth but if these plants are "short and bushy" anyway maybe I need to let them go allnatrual? or maybe an extended veg time to get some good growth out of it? Any advice would be great! Thanks.
this is the thread that convinced me to scrog. he used 1 400 watt, and you have TWO!!!!!! imagine that! http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=12653 sorry to send someone to another forum, but i think this thread is outstanding. good luck
1 lb off a plant.. wow... thanks i'll read up.. I had planned on scrog, but wasnt sure with my space, and indica strain.. still a newb
Am I correct in assuming that a bigger plant produces a bigger healthier bud? I think i should veg 4 plants longer and get them nice and big, then flower, instead of 6 plants shorter (and crowed up my space) Here's my scrog idea set up (though i may end up going a bit vertical on the edges This is the basic idea right? I only have a 5 gal bucket for each root area, is that enough to grow 4 bigger plants or should i stick with the 6 ones to fill this size of a screen?
I will always tell someone to grow fewer, but larger plants. If you are not in a hurry, and you dont sell your weed, bigger plants are more rewarding. In the event that you are busted, the fewer plants you have, the better. I am a gardener of all plants not only MJ so i enjoy growing the largest plants I can. Thats jsut me though. Your setup looks good, what do you plan on using for the screen? I use green bamboo plant steaks used to hold up heavy plants, you can get them at a garden store for a few dollars, and hold them together with bag ties, like the ones on loafs of bread. 2''x2'' squares is a good rule of thumb. good luck, and keep us posted!!!
well I'm doing buble buckets (5 gal) so I only have so much room for root growth, which I feel will limit the ultimate size of the plant, thats why i am considering going with 6 plants instead of 4. since this will be hydro I wont be using stakes of any kind. I'll build the frame (pictured in blue) out of 2"x2"'s and the screen is going to be chicken wire, or what ever i can find that will work at Lowes heh I like to document my work (see the links in my signatures) so there will prolly be too many updates, its exciting to go down every day and check on the girls (i hope they are all girls!) especialy when one of my hunches pay off (like going from germination into mircle grow potting soil, see my 1st grow for details) any idea if my root-room idea is correct?
