SCROG Questions

I'm considering the screen method for my first personal crop. I helped my roommate run a grow for about 9 months. We broke the grow down about 3 months ago due to paranoia. Well now the roommate is moving to Costa and I want to crank up my own grow. I want to do the screen method, but I'm not sure about the finer points of the method. I have read up on it but still have questions.
Back Ground: I purchased a Sun System 8 bulb T-5 Light system. It measures about 50”x20” as I can remember. I am using one gallon pots with potting soil. The pots are about 7.5” in diameter and are 8” high. I'm growing a Thai x Skunk it's a little bit tall (about 50")but I don't think that's bad with this method. I also like sativa ganja. I have sprouted the seeds and they are strong; they sprouted about 1.5 days after I planted them. I'm currently running a Corallife 65w PC fixture for the sprouts. The bulb that's in the fixture is a 50/50 (50% natural Daylight10,000K / 50% Actinic 03 Blue) bulb that was on a reef tank. (is this ok?) I have access to an air cooled 1000w HPS if I need it. The space is an Interior(not located on an exterior wall) walk in closet that's huge 10x10 of usable space. I'm going to fight the urge to blow up my closet with 35 plants and try to keep it at a manageable figure like 8 or 10 trees at a time.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>
so my questions about the SCROG method are as follows:<o></o>

• how high should the screen be for this verity of herb? Thai x Skunk reaches about 50 inches per seed sellers website. How large of a gap do I need in the screening?<o></o>
• What does the screen do exactly? Does it hold the fan leaves down away from the buds, or does it just support the buds?<o></o>
• Do I have to manually train the buds into the screen.<o></o>
• When I bend my tops do I need to “super crop” the stem or can I just bend it and secure it to the screen?<o></o>
• Will this system work with plants from seeds, or does it require the consistency of clones?<o></o>
• In the event im not happy with the T5 lighting, can I change the light over to my 1000w HPS with out it stressing the plants? Obviously elevation of the 1000w light above the plant is a concern. I may in fact finish the bud with the 1000w light, and do a light period time reduction in the last 2 weeks of flowering to mature the buds.<o></o>
• How well does this system (scrog) work with a ebb and flow hydro system?<o></o>
