SCROG Help - Week 1 - Flower

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Sucrose OG, Aug 28, 2017.

  1. I added a trellis in the first week of flower because one of my plants was getting to close to the light. Did I do this correctly? I tucked until everything tall was under the trellis. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

  3. I've only done this once, but what you want to try to do is weave your plants over and under so you have tops coming out of every squares. .

YouTube has many videos showing how to do this. I weaved mine in and out until every say was pretty much filled.

Someone else might explain this better

  5. Usually a scrog has smaller squares. 2-3". It's gonna be tough. You still have a week or 2 of stretch and that net is already full. Running a scrog is a process and not just putting a net on top of a plant. Training the plant while vegging and weaving under the net till filled about 70% and continue weaving during the stretch phase when you flip to 12/12. But, I must say, it appears that you have a healthy gal.

  6. Basically it's just lst without tying down branches. It's better than burning the plants. Just keep plenty of airflow going.

  7. So i have 4 main collas that stick up high. If i bend those sideways will it continue to grow? Or will it just produce more collas on the sides? I just dont to sacrafice these potential sites

  8. Is that what scrog does? Allows more colas to grow from the exposed stem because they get extra light from laying sideways?

  9. You still have a lot more stretch to go,it looks like...So, you may have to bend some down to keep them off of the light...Just be gentle and tie a string around the tops and down to the net,and the side buds will develop fine and the top colas will turn upwards soon.

  10. Yes. It puts the "lower" buds up next to the top colas, where they all get equal light.

  11. Yes, its actually because of the hormones in the stem. When you turn it sideways the hormones stay in that bent area instead of the top of the plant so the side growth starts to produce more collas

  13. Is the begin of flowering the proper time to start this or earlier in the veg state of the plant?

  14. The earlier,The better...While the stems are still small and easy to train.

  15. I read veg. You let them grow a few inches past the net and then fold them under. When the net is full you start to flower. I started a bit late. I think 1 week of flower is the latest you can do this. I might lose my denser buds, but if more grow in its place i might just come close to what i would have had if not a little more.

  16. I can see how that can potentially increase yields a good bit if all the hormones stay with all the nodes on the side like that, with the direct light.

  17. Quick update, in a day the leaves have turned up and the top of the original stem I folded turned up as well. Crazy how fast this thing is stretching

  19. You wanna see real crazy..Supercrop those bitches..I only do this up til 2 wks into flower!
Yes, they are under a scrog too!
Picture 1 showing supercropped area and picture #2 shows the resulting bud formation..:) 8-13-17 supercroped GDP#2.jpg 8-17-17 stacking.jpg

  20. Lol. I'm in the same situation. I'm actually a lil later than you. I'm growing critical cheese an they are growing out of control! Trying to keep them at optimal distance from my 600 watt hps. It's just under two weeks an I put my scrog over them an hour ago! Everything will be fine! I hope!
