SCROG and all SCROG related questions

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by SofaKingHigh_, Jan 5, 2024.

  1. I have been doing scrog for quite a few years now. I’ll give a rundown of basics and leave the floor open for any questions pertaining to scrog. The benefits to scrog are vast but I’ll name a few. Scrog utilizes the most from your lights and most efficient use of space indoors. Scrog elements larf and gives you almost all top colas. First things first, throwing a stretchy net over some plants is not scrog. When doing scrog you want a tight or taunt screen to work with, weaved is better. Typically a frame is gonna achieve this with pvc being the cleanest. I weave a new screen each run because I just cut the string at harvest for ease. Always tuck your plants never weave them in the screen. Timing is a huge factor in scrog, along with knowing what to trim. Anything that’s not above the screen gets cut off. Automated irrigation is definitely a bonus but not necessary. Most people don’t do scrog because they like to move their plants, I’m the exact opposite. I defoliate twice a run and after the stretch in flower never have to touch the plants again until harvest.
I’ll leave you all with some pictures of some of my scrogs and feel free to ask any questions if your interested

  6. love your set up as well as Trojangrower and CO BlueGreen set ups as well.
Your comment that throwing a net over your grow is not scrogging could get you killed on some forum--dont ask how I know.
I am amazed how some scroggers like you get the canopy so dead eye even looking. I have scrogged for years ans still am working on that aspect of the grow. However, I still get a bit of larf esp if the colas are "donkey d-cks" as some here have termed overly large colas.
Thank you for posting. I thought this forum was closed down for good since posting came to a complete halt for a rather lengthy spell.

  7. btw i finally put my plants and screen on a lazy susan set up. I am too old to be reaching underneath everything trying to keep the grow tidy and serviced well. I sacrificed screen area to facilitate this but after my first defoliation and tucking under the screen, it was worth it. I used to say it was my yoga session for the day after I did my work in the garden--- I no longer like that yoga.

  8. Haha I know many take offense to the whole net throwing. I’m maybe just a Scrog purist, but there’s never a wrong way to grow. Whatever works for everyone.
