Screen for Vape

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by mvsiK, Nov 5, 2014.

  1. So I'm trying to find a screen for a vaporizer I bought off the internet. It is called the atmos G5 and it works pretty well for the price (25$ off ebay). The only issue is that it is burning the weed and not really vaporizing it which defeats the whole purpose of vaping.

I've read that you can buy these little pre-cut metal screens they have online but they are out of stock. I've also heard that they are available at headshops. The only problem is I live about 50 miles from one. What I've done is gone to home depot and taken apart a sink aerator which leaves me with something resembling the screen.

The only question I have now is, what is this screen made of and is it safe to use? Has anyone ever used the mesh screen from a sink in a bowl or vape?

Pic related it's the sink screen. The bottom one I took a bic lighter to in order to see what would happen. No smoke came off it but there is some discoloration.
