Scientists turn dead cells into live tissue

  1. Wait...did that article say that the debated stem cell research from a few months ago relied on live embryos?

I don't mean to go off topic, but I thought that the stem cells were always coming from dead fetus'.

I guess what I'm asking is back a few months ago when they were debating stem cell research, were those stem cells being used from live embryos?

  2. Yes, In stem cell research, a live viable embyro is needed, in the process the embyro is destroyed. Hence the controversy.

  3. boo fucking hoo.

people die all the time from stupid shit.

its shouldnt even be a fucking controversy, cuz if it werent for the testing the embryos wouldnt have been acquired in the first place. they were obtained solely for the sake of research.

  4. boo fucking hoo?

I'm not complaining about anything..... ?

  5. i dont think he was implying you were complaining. just the whiney repblicans.

  6. Yes, damn repblicans! I'm gonna have zombie army. Every one better get on my good side or face the wrath of my zombie army.

  7. Hey, not all republicans are bad...you damn democraps...Kidding lol.
I support stem cell research, I believe it's the future of curing diseases. Stem cell research is just another way humans are evolving to live in our habitat..

If a little egg can possibly cure cancer, then fuckin harvest those motherfuckers. I can't wait to see whats in the future of medical studies.

  8. Speaking of stem cell research. I was wondering about this. Could stem cells potentially be able to let a person live forever? If they figure the whole stem cell issue out, and a person constantly took stem cells to replenish all there cells, would it enable them to live longer or forever?

  9. sorry rasta. i was the first link of the chain reaction that it looks like took this thread off topic.

  10. 28 days later anyone?

  11. The one thing I do not understand is why would you take a baby that is just starting to grow and enter into this world, to cure Altimerze or Parkinsons. I know Park syndrome isnt for just the elderly, but there is no sense killing something new to preserve something old. Hopefully, Ill die before I turn 60. I prolly will too.

  12. Most of the time, embryos that are going to be discarded anyways are used. With in vitro, they fertilize more than one egg and take the healthiest one and just toss the rest out, literally or let them sit out in a petri dish and die. How is that more humane than using them to cure some sort of disease?

There are also stem cell lines now. They harvested a certain stem cell years back and have been letting it continue to divide and make new undifferientated cells and continue to experiment on these.

  13. LOL now all u ppl who talked about what u would do if zombies attacked. I think u may have to put that to the test:D

  14. Yea, I see what your saying senior. I just dont like the idea of using humans to cure a disease. You ever watch Fullmetal Alchemist? Ha, its kind of like the Philosophers Stone.

Im ready for the zombie outbreak. Are you?

haha sounds like a cheesie commercial.

  15. its called abortion, unfit teenage mothers or rape victims might get an abortion. atleast the embryo's are being put to good use
