Growing up there seemed to be beakers and tubes. There was multi-chamber and percolation but some of the videos I see with "scientific" pieces have my interest. I've been happy with my old Jerome Baker and Vaporizers but I keep wanting something with good filtration that can make fat stacks of bubbles I'm just not going to spend that much on a piece though. I couldn't see going over $200 with all tax and shipping. I don't think I care about having something huge anymore, I think I would rather have something small that works very well. Advice in general concerning these pieces? Am I spending enough for something that will work well?

Thanks. Part of what I was hoping for was alternatives, particularly with respect to where to shop... Didn't want to ship international if not needed, and figured a domestic source would be cheaper... I just wanted to give an idea of the size and overall style. I don't know that there is really any advice to be offered, but I worry about glass being too thin, too fragile or just too low of quality to work right... That is the only reason I want something people have heard of/van vouch for... Both of those look OK. Is diffuser/percolator quality a concern here, or are most reasonable quality manufacturers decent enough that performance will be on par?
I like all three of those actually so it's up to you. The one you posted has the 18mm joint, the others have the 14mm I think. Regarding the perc it comes down to personal preference. All of the ones we're looking at here have quality percs. Was set to pull the trigger on this from brotherswithglass, when I did one last google. Afrosmoke.com had it for 140 with free shipping rather then 160+15... I ordered it last wed, it showed up friday afternoon! I am pretty damn close to their shipping center as it turns out. Definitely worth $140. Works awesome with the water just covering the perc, bubbles like crazy even just on a slower draw. Its a little bigger then the blackleaf (12in vs 9.5) and i gotta say the size is real good. Would recommend to anyone looking for a solid smaller piece on a budget, free shipping and free glass 1 hitter.
