Well Simply put I work for an organic butchery/ meat processing plant. When we do our bacon it is all organic seasonings and all until it reaches the old man. He take food grade mineral oil and sprays 6-7 sprays a slab because it "runs down and slices easier". Now I know food grade mineral oil can come into minor contact, seeing how you use it on the machines, not the food itself. So If I buy a pack of bacon and get it tested can I sue? I have told my bosses of the bacon abuse but they do no do anything.
Fucking frivolous-ass lawsuit right there. I lose more respect for my species by the hour. Edit: This should be like, an international crime, to talk shit on bacon.
The true crime is putting mineral oil all over an organic product and act like I am stupid for saying something. Frivolous lawsuit? please sir my eyes have seen more than enough justification . As for the hand that feeds me, I'm finding a new less oily hand to throw me my bacon.
If you really want to get money out of it, test the shit and then run a study to determine the negative health effects of such on the typically ignorant consumer. Considering companies usually have much more expensive lawyers than you would be able to find to fight your case, there in is the only way your going to get jack shit lol.
Pretty sure consuming mineral oil in such small amounts has no health effects, if not slightly beneficial if there is even enough there. The claim would be false advertising, and you yourself would have to incur damages (physical injury, monetary losses from buying the product for years which wasnt as described, or some sort of damages). You have no claim, stop trying to get yourself fired over nothing and do your job. If you are that concerned, which you clearly are not, you are just a greedy wanna be thief. But if you were actually concerned the proper action is to report it to the FDA. But you will get no money, likely fired, and where you work will probably be fined and forced to pay those who can prove they have been buying the meat, some of their money back. Just stop trying to, it is because of people like you that the courts dont work properly for people who really need them. Your kind are a shameful and disgusting bunch. If I could negative rep you, I would.
Guys, his employer is putting machine oil in bacon that people eat. And you're telling him it's frivolous?
hahahahah you're so worried about your bacon being organic but you're eating bacon. fucking bacon dude. there's like literally nothing nutritious about it.. if you want some legit organics eat things that came out of dirt or off trees.
its mineral oil... were i work we do the same. If your worried about the oil, maybe you should not eat anything at all. Hell go sue a fast food restaurant for un healthy food
Since when arent pigs part of nature? What we feed them may not be exactly organic but let me say this again. 99.9% of us here smoke cannabis, dont tell me shit about organic when you are increasing your risk of cancer by inhaling smoke (smoke is cancerous to humans, all smoke). Its like preaching the Bible while screwing a whore.
If the package says organic and inside the package there's some spray that's not organic then the package is lying.
Guys, his employer is putting machine oil in bacon that people eat. And you're telling him it's frivolous?
It's not machine oil it's food grade mineral oil... My grandma puts that stuff on her cutting board/kitchen island.
I'm sure that plastic wrapper the bacon is in is really organic, and all the chemicals it soaks into the bacon is healthy as well.....
did i say they weren't. what we feed them isn't exactly organic? ha hah ha. how we raise and breed and feed and treat them isn't organic. like. it's just stupid to want to have a so called 'healthier' version of bacon when it's one of the worst things you could eat. the best way to eat bacon is don't.
Its not a matter of how the pig was raised so much as bacon (especially in America) is just an extremely fatty food and the grease, etc. is bad for you. That being said, if people want to eat Bacon, especially organic, they shouldn't be subjected to eating unneccessarily unhealthy food. But it sounds like your employer uses mineral oil to keep the machine working right, doesn't really seem dangerous.
Well our shop cuts our own meat from the farm, so yes we know exactly how the pigs are feed and stuff. They pry taste better than you. Shit people I know its food grade mineral oil, and small amounts are alright. But christ he is covering each slab liberally in oil, not the machines moving parts. perhaps me wanting to make some money off it is wrong, but letting people sell a premium product that is far from it is more so. I will be quitting soon, and contacting the FDA regardless what I do because it is the right thing to do.
