Scars

  1. Anybody know anything about scarification? I like the idea of getting "natures tattoo" lol.

    But forreal. Any info?

Can I do it at home?

  2. I think doing that at home would be as risky as doing your own tattoo at home with no training. But as for what you can do I have no good ideas

  3. no, you can't do it at home. LOL. unless you want to have a high chance of really fucking up.

if you're really interested go to your local piercing shop and ask. pretty sure lots of places do these things.

  4. Just for the record: when I said doing it at home I meant a simple design. Nothing too complicated, ya'know?

  5. i know. i'm kind of into body modification. just have had lots of experiences with piercings and what not.
just go to a shop, it will save you so much trouble.
doing it yourself is unsanitary, dangerous, and 90% of home modifications look like shit. piercings, tattoos, scarring. even piercings that people do at home that heal fine usually look like shit, placed in the wrong places. stuff that like.
if you aren't a trained artist i wouldn't do it. it's my two cents though, everyone is free to do what they please.

  6. I've got several scars, all work-related and mostly on my hands/forearms. Just smash/cut yourself with various tools or machines and you'll have plenty of scars!

If you want some actual artwork (although two of my scars almost look like a smiley face), go to the artist. I don't understand the obsession with piercing, tattooing, and now scarring oneself. You're potentially changing your body for the rest of your life; is it really worth possibly (and likely) fucking yourself up to save a few dollars?

That said, my opinion of scarification as a professional art form is that it's ugly... I'd rather get a tattoo, but that's just me. I believe it's far more painful, and you run a much higher risk of getting infections (especially if you do it at home or by anyone other than a professional).

  7. Ill post my scars in like 10 minutes. Some intentional scarification, some not....

  8. go to a licensed artist with experience please. you don't want to get some nasty ass infection from an open wound, or worse, fuck it up and be stuck with it forever. scars are called scars for a reason, shit doesn't go away.

  9. Would it really be "nature's tattoo" if you did it to yourself or someone did it to you? It would be man made not natural.

  10. Joy kill.

Yes, but it's not technically injecting ink into my skin...

  11. I don't no anything about it, but i did see an episode of taboo that was covering this. It was pretty interesting you might like it, I saw a lot of different designs and ideas( that you might like).

  12. Sounds really stupid. Just get a tatt and stop being needy. Can you imagine how stupid that shit would look later in life? Like some horrible stretch mark or something. Gross.

  13. Sounds just like a tattoo to me.

  14. You could to it at home, but you also run the risk of it looking shitty or infection. If it were me I'd worry about infection, which in some cases can be life threatening. Video tape it if you do.

  15. image-2157591697.jpg

    It's on my hip

  16. Think long and hard about it before you do something that you'll have the rest of your life...

  17. a fucking anchor?! good lord. and that's a very, very faint scar, like you just barely broke the skin, if you're going to actually do this, go to a specialist, seriously. this looks like you did it with a butterknife.

  18. 1) anchors represent stability and I really need some in my life
    2) an anchor is a simple enough design that I wouldn't be able to completely fuck it up
    3) if I really need to, I can just re-go-over it...

  19. Its not symmetrical. How did you do it?
