Oh yes I have that nightstand. One time a dude broken into my house with a sword and i blocked him with the shield and defeated him with the club.

For some reason...I do.
Shields are highly efficient against swords, unless shoddy and without steel reinforcements. A hefty claymore can snap pine shields like the twigs they rightfully are.
