Scale problems

  1. Alright I've got a bit of a problem.

My dads got this heavy duty scale, which I've used before, but now there seems to be something wrong with it. When I plug it in, it gets powered (you can hear it...it's old) but I can't flip the on switch. It seems to be locked in the off position. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I'm not sure if my dads been using it lately, but it's been like this for a while.

Does anyone know what the problem could be or how I could fix it w/o risking breaking it or something? I REALLY need to use this scale, so help is much appreciated. I've asked my dad to use it for weighing out food (used to be a fitness buff) but he just said "Oh we can get you a smaller one for that," which isn't exactly helping my current situation.

    Thanks.
