\t Published June 07, 2013 FoxNews.com Saudi Arabia's jobs problem: Not enough executioners \t Saudi Arabia can't find enough executioners to carry out its barbaric brand of justice, according to reports. The Kingdom is actively soliciting applicants who can be trained to behead people sentenced to death under Sharia law, according to Vatican Insider. While the problem may shine a light on Saudi Arabia's frightening justice system, it also could show a more humane population, according to the Asia Times. “Fewer people are interested in a "career" in executing others, a task that requires a lot of cold blood and a lot of training to be able to swing a sword properly,†Asia Times reported. The executioners who are on the job are doing double duty, as the number of death penalties meted out has not slowed. Some 76 people were put to death in 2012, and 40 have already been put to death this year. The most recent case took place on May 14 in the southwestern city of Najran, where a man was beheaded after being convicted of murdering a fellow tribesman. The ultimate penalty is applied in Saudi Arabia in cases of murder, armed robbery, rape, drug trafficking, witchcraft and sodomy. Human rights groups and western groups have tried to influence Saudi Arabia to implement more fair trials and less cruel methods of execution. It remains the only country in the world where beheadings are carried out in public places. Not sure if they went though it but earlier in the year a man was sentenced to forced paralyzation as a punishment. They have a most lovely justice system there. Clerics dispense justice without ever having to see evidence. Word alone is enough. Women are whipped for being raped. If they never were alone or seducing the male it never would of happened. Conversion from Islam is punishable by death. Theres some people up for execution this year that did. Burying a adulter based on the Cleric judgement is punishable by burying the female to her neck in the dirt and stoning her. Males generally are exempt from that. Remember that evidence can be nothing but someones word that she committed adultery. Just some instances of life in the Kingdom. I've spent more years in that region then in the US as a adult. I lived in Bahrain for a year working at the Embassy. We went into Saudi to watch the beheadings. It took place in a sports stadium that never has seen any sports occur. As soon as that head came out the ENTIRE and I mean the ENTIRE crowd was on its feet cheering like the home team won a touch down. Was crazy.
to bad sharia law did not say something a bit more entertaining like gladiator fights to the death. nobody wins, everyone dies, you fight for honor and $10,000 to a charity of your choice. but after reading this now im interested in knowing whos been sentenced to death for witchcraft? does hogwarts know about this?
Nothing wrong with beheading. Quick and fast. It's not like the electric chair or lethal injection and somehow more civil. lol Firing squad is cool to.
if its done right it is quick and fast. your last feelings of being concious will be extreme pain. as they are slicing through your brains connection to the spinal cord. Ive heard theres a chance that you can remain concious for about 2-3 seconds, go into a coma then your basically dead a few seconds after that. but your still pretty much right about the electric chair and lethal injections are extremely expensive, so in a sense its not worth the taxes, ive heard it actually costs more money to do lethal injections then it does to keep them in prison for life.
Beheading for "sodomy"? WTF, in most states here sodomy includes oral sex. LMAO @ getting beheaded for giving some bitch an oral climax.
Exactly but as soon as a western nation, or your own nation does something you have a problem with you'll spout off critiquing, right? Say all you want! YOU HAVE THE MOTHERFUCKING POWER
Nope, that's BS. The lethal injection costs about $0.03. It's the legal process, they keep death row Inmates alive for decades, with appeals left and right before putting one to death. All those court cases are what actually cost so much more than just a life sentence.
How can this be a jobs problem? Only 76 people were killed last year, and this year only 40. They shouldn't need more than 1 person to handle that imo.
friend told me so i was repeating some shit he said. googled it and the cost for the injection itself is actually about $1200 as of a few months ago, it used to be under $100. the legal process as you said, for death row can end up costing millions.
