Hi guys, growing wild Thai strain here, seeds started popping on aug 8, then switched the lights to 12:12 on sep3 and it’s already the 5th week of flowering but still no signs of flowering. Not auto flower seeds, I have checked for light leaks and made sure it’s fully covered at night. I have even turned the lights off 36hours for the second time. May I know when or which week I should expect some buds to show? It’s stretching too much and I’m having issues with height, can’t put it outdoors. Thanks
How many watts and what is your space? It looks like one quantum bored, right? What is that like 150 W that’s not enough to really flower a full sativa plant especially one that tall. You might’ve had a better shot if you did some low stress training. Just my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wait, are those your plants? They look similar to mine, if they are. Welcome yes that’s for a spread out even canopy you just have one long plant tho. I’m assuming that it’s just a guide right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The size of my space is 70 x 55cm. Yes it’s one quantum board. Sorry it’s my first grow so I’m still a newbie. I watch on YouTube a lot ppl mention the need of around 600-700 ppfd during flower so I thought I got the correct light. Using a Samsung lm281b board that says will project 650w but has only a power consumption of 65w on the wall.
And that measurement reading is for having like an even canopy across the whole tent. Not one single plant like you have the part is not the PPFD is nowhere near the same on certain parts of that plant because it’s a little light Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dude, I’m sorry but now that PPF the reading is 100% wrong for your grow. .. if you had a grow like this, that would make sense You have one single tall plant ,, the PPFD is only hitting the very top and certain parts of the leaves, do you notice that the leaves are pretty big, but your stems are very weak? You need more light dude and I would tie that plant down literally make it as flat as you can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
@buckethead129 that reference came from a past member (org grow). I suspect you got a sham light if it's claimed to be 650w but is only 65w at the wall. A 650w LED is 650w at the wall. You should consider looking at lights from Mars, or Vipraspecter, or KingBrite, or Horticulture Lighting Group. Many sham lights out atm. You can try dropping to 10hrs light for a few days to help it, but yea, that plant need(ed) training and more light imo.
You probably need two more quantum boards that size and you need to make that plant very flat.. if you get the proper lighting and you steak that thing down as flat as it will go, do you have a chance of getting some bud from it? What is the wattage of the quantum board Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
somebody gave their plants too much light and bleached the buds white, this also stunned the bud growth.
the amount of light is up to the strain, but yea, 1000 is kinda high. 600 is a good amount, but Fluence recommends 600+ the light isn't 650W anyhow, its 65W, and the general rule of thumb is 35W of quality LED per square foot area. Given a 2x2 area thats 4 sqft; 4 * 35 = 140 W. I could prob work with that amount. Maybe check out some strip lighting. Check these out. Maybe he bleached those tops idk. been a long time, I just kept that pic for reference. here's another ref from
I do see some alternation going on in the top of the plant so it looks like it is trying to flower. I would start doing some training to bring the plant down into a canopy of sorts so the light covers more of the plant with better intensity. Study up on training technique for the next grow. Indoors headroom is generally limited plus lighting is not like the sun so you have to adapt to those conditions. However, at five weeks you should be seeing some flowers. Are you using a timer?
It might be to late to do anything now for the way the plant is right now. But I see you did pinch your stem to make it turn sideways at the top. At this point I would take it as a learning experience and lollipop everything below the spot where you pinched it or super cropped it and just finish the top of that plant off. Unless you can add another true 100 watts from the wall and still need to super crop it again lower to bring that height down. So you have a couple of options, good luck with which ever one you choose to do.
I have a cray idea that might just work @trojangrower (you like things like this), move the plant to one side of the room, add a screen/bamboo or something to pull the plant tight to the wall, drop the led vertical and keep it about 6" away from the canopy, think we can help scf5575 to pull a crop, could it work?
