Sativa Seeds Old School Maui Waui

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by maverick45710, Oct 2, 2018.

  1. has anyone had any experience with this strain or breeder? i am really into the old school strains and just happened to stumble onto this strain at the Attitude. i have been growing from fem seed for the past few years but i have decided to start doing some cloning again for a sea of green grow. i do hate putting the time and energy into plants that have the possibility of being male but i am trying to get as close to the old school genetics as possible. when searching for a mother plant, it seems like i have had better luck finding a super female when using regular seeds. i have had bad luck with some breeders (such as Nirvana) when buying regular seeds versus their fem version. i hope this is not the case with Sativa Seeds. i placed a order for a 10 pack of the Maui Waui and 2 x 5-packs of KC Brains regular seeds. i also have a partial pack of Bodhi Clusterfunk left-over from last years outdoor grow. i plan to use all of these regular seeds to find 6 or 8 mother plants. if anyone has any comments on this breeder/strain or are into the old school strains, please feel free to leave your 2 cents!

  2. I can only say that my friend had good success with his Maui waui. He got them from the same breeder and it smoked really good

  3. that is very good news! i have not read any reviews on this breeder or strain but i have been very curious about it. i am also looking for panama red and some other 1970s old school strains. but i have not had any luck finding any others in seed form.

  4. I believe you can find Panama red on anesia seeds

  5. Maui Waui is now seen as the standard hybrid for any weed growing in Ha with a strong sativa leaning, at most your average Thai that grows just as well and comes with a free chocolate smell.
moving out of the feminized side of growing weed, into land races you need to be very aware of your genes and be very familiar with back breeding and the 'rules' to breeding..urrently their are many nooby breeders pollen chucking from one screw up to the next
I keep my landraces very secure and breed often, often going straight to 12x12 as vegging is not really required
my best advice is be very cautious as to your genes

    cheers/

  6. i would love to hear more about the "rules" to breeding if you have the time. i am no authority on breeding by any means. my father and uncle are old time pot farmers from the 1970s and i have watched them breed their outdoor plants to make seeds for the following year. but that is the extent of my breeding knowledge. i do not plan to do any indoor breeding right now, i am just looking for some good mother plants to do a sea of green grow. i mostly want to see if i get a higher yield with several smaller clone plants than i do with my larger seed plants. right now i am averaging 3+ ounces on my seeds plants, vegging for about 4 to 5 weeks. but i can only fit 12 plants in my 4.5' x 6.5' flower space. ( i am using 3 x 600hps in soil )

  7. Ever try mixing your own very high quality organic soil based on good compost and vermicompost?

It’s a small effort up front but also isn’t that big of a deal - and man it’s just SO easy once it’s out of the way -

You don’t need to buy bottled fertilizers anymore, You don’t need to check or I just pH, you don’t need to do much besides keep it moist every few days with simple tap water… In fact you won’t be going into The Hydro Store very often with the exception to buy a couple more pots and bulbs -

Plants just love - and THRIVE in a quality soil mix - and you can make your own much much cheaper end of a much higher quality than you could ever buy -

Bagged soil companies and especially the ones marketed at The Hydro Store add just enough nutrition to get you going - and which peters out quickly, forcing you to go in by six different bottles and pH testing equipment -

With a quality ORGANIC soil zero additional fertilizers are ever needed - at all, whatsoever - we rely on living microbes in the compost and vermicompost to create a balanced environment resulting in deep green vibrant growth - aromas and flavors are intensified when your plants are happy and happy they are in a quality soil -

It is so rich it can be used over and over and over again -

I also know not everyone is into it - so there is that lol

  8. If you want old school genuine genetics, look no further than Swami Seeds. They have the true original Maui, i.e. cherry bomb

  9. Ace seeds has a bunch of landrace sativas. I’ve been wanting to try purple Malawi for awhile

  10. yeah i have actually read most of your sticky about organic soil. it is a very interesting subject. i have been using fox farm soil and nutes. i do this mostly for the simplicity of it. my grow is located in a spare bedroom of a apartment, with plenty of neighbors around. for these reasons, i have to keep my grows as simple as possible.

  12. is Swami Seeds a domestic breeder/bank or U.K.? i mostly use The Attitude since i have a friend who works there and they have been very good to me in the past. i have ordered from GLG a few times because they have the best price and selection on Bodhi seeds. also their in-house brand Bad Dawg Genetics is the fire! Barneys Farms has a few old school strains such as the acapulco gold and the red bud but the one time i tried the A.G. it did not turn out like i thought it should. it was still good smoke and may have had "some" of the old school genes. the "original" bubblegum from TH seeds is suppose to be a close representation of that strain but in that case as well it did not look like the original to me. the Nirvana version was much closer in my opinion. i have high hopes for the Maui Waui from my most recent seed order.
