Hey, GrassCity! So, I'm having a good bad problem. My girl is growing too tall for my tent. I did what I thought was right and cut the top off. This is what I cut off IT'S A BIG BABY! Some specs.. My plant up there is 56 days old and 17 days into flowering. Silver Haze I have 60" 5ft 1.5 meters HEIGHT. 400W MH/HPS (using HPS now). 240 CFM exhaust. Passive intake. Little fan below plants blowing up. So, my question for everybody is to help my noobie growing self with dealing with my sativa seeds. It grows really fast. Within 2 weeks it's already almost a ft tall and ready to receive nutes. FROM SEED. I have Advanced Nutrients nutes: grow, micro, bloom, bud candy, b52, and flush. I heard of some techniques but I still don't get them. Like FIM (Fuck I Missed)? I'm not sure the purpose or where exactly you cut? Topping? What? Is that doing what I did to my own baby in pics up there? When will they start showing buds? It's showing plenty of pistols all over and all over the branches, but no buds... first time growing and showing. Then LowStressTest? What would be best to grow as much weight as possible!?! I have 60" Height. 36" Width. 20" front to back. SPACE. I think growing 4 plants will produce 3oz or more each. maybe growing only 2 would be efficient? maybe 4 until i figure out if they are male/female? NEED ADVICE
hmmm, well i cant give too much advice on what to do right now,,, but i do know topping/most other methods of shortning plant is not good to do during budding for stress,,, but i sudjest looking into LST,, youd be suprised how easy/effective it is,,
lst that bitch sideways and around in a circle if you can.. topping the plant during flowering can stunt the growth of the buds and decreases your yield. top only during veg and you can lst anytime. only 17 days into flower, youve got quite some time left for it to grow, you will def need to get that under control... just my opinion but 3oz from a stretched out plant like that would be a pretty high expectation you will not only save room by using lst but increase your yield quite a bit.
Yeah, unless you have a 1,000 or 1,500 watt HPS or MH and plenty of ceiling height it's gonna be hard to finish that one out. I have some Panama genetics that grow just like that. They'd be better indoors to only veg for 3 or 4 weeks before switching into flowering. On the flipside,I could take a sativa like that and put it outdoors int the spring where I live and harvest 3 lbs from it come Haloween. Definitely bend, LST or whatever, but you're gonna run out of room for that tall Amazon woman soon.
So it's going to grow out more soon huh? idk.. I think I'm just going to grow it out... Next time I'll use some of these methods
Yeah I def know that cutting my baby at this stage wasn't a good idea but I had no choice. I'll lst next time around with these seeds. Thanks for the input guys
