Sativa and Indica strain with no munchies side effect

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Hitman479, Aug 19, 2020.

  1. Hello, I have some depression and anxiety issues and I wanted to see if there are some strains that don’t give you munchies. Also, what would you recommend. The oil or natural better

  2. I am relatively new to this as well, but have been doing searches for something similar. This is a quote from a convention website. I don't know how accurate the strain info is, but I've run across the terpene Humulene in many sources. I'd search strains high in it.

quote: "Humulene was the first terpene found in hops. Its aroma contains earthy, woody and spicy notes.
Besides cannabis, it can be also found in clove, sage, and black pepper. It has a variety of medical properties. Early research has shown humulene to be anti-proliferative, meaning it prevents cancer cells from growing. Also, it proved to be effective in suppressing appetite, making it a potential weight loss tool. Furthermore, like many other cannabis terpenes mentioned above, it also reduces inflammation, relieves pain and fights bacterial infections.
You can find humulene in strains like White Widow, Headband, Girl Scout Cookies, Sour Diesel, Pink Kush and Skywalker OG.": unquote.

  3. Strains higher in THCV supposedly don't produce the munchies. Landrace strains from Africa such as Durban Poison have THCV. THCV doesn't activate until 425 to 430 degrees.

  4. THCv is actually supposed to help suppress appetite as well.

To the OP, one thing I do, before indulging in an indica, because I also hate the munchies, is look up the strain on Leafly. Usually they will have the appetite meter on there and you can determine for yourself if it’s a strain worth giving a go.

  5. Eat something before consuming cannabis. When I do this, I don't become hungry regardless the strain.

  6. Been there , done that. Does not work.

A strong appetite strain will send hunger pains in your stomach regardless of whether you had a huge lunch or not right before.

  7. When I first began growing for pain related problems, I went backward and lost a shit-ton of weight. It took a while to gain it back. Since then, I get hungry a lot. Even if I just ate, my mind and stomach try like hell to trick me. If you eventually find the strain you seek, let us know. Good luck.

  8. I never get the munchies but I’m a heavy user look for strains with high thcv

  9. Aww but the munchies is the best side effect of smoking weed. lol
