Sand/w rocks or stones for the bottom of pots

    Do i need this all the time or can i use something else like
    maby add more perlite.
    Running out of gravel.

    you dont really need gravel/rocks at the bottom of your pots.try vermiculite,perilite,peat moss.these will make for an easier root growth and a good drainage.its also cleaner and fairly cheap.

    drain holes are a must.

    and i put parts of old clay pots at the bottom of my flowering pots. doesnt hurt and can help.
