Is this the sacred cactus? I found it in my neighborhood in Tucson az and it appears to be San pedro can amybody tell me if they think so too? If not, how can I find out or test it to see if it's San pedro? Thanks http://i528.photobucket.com/albums/dd321/bwitt92/c55865f8.jpg
Cant tell type, but peyote is the mystical cacti. san pedro and peruvian torch also contain mescaline. if it is indeed a san pedro then you can eat it. they sell them at nurserys sometimes. most cacti are not really toxic, so it prolly wont kill you if try it and it is not, but I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND doing so. and rem with any mescaline containing cacti, you may experince nausea or a purge, the reeaction is to the mescaline itself, but is enhanced by the soapy glucoscideds of the plant.
Doesnt appear to be San Pedro bro, although it may be of trichocereus genus, which may also contain alkaloids... Looks almost like T. Peruvianus, but who knows, I'm more of a mycophile, as in mushroooms.. Good luck bud
